Thanks for the advice, I figured as much. The flux isn't TO bad, but I can definatly see where the shielding gas would improve the integrity of the welds for a much smoother bead.

When I bought my S52 it had the harness with it. As for the DME...It fell out while being shipped to me, so I had to purchase one on BF.C from the classifieds.

The PnP yards here are kind of hit and miss. I think Ill go scavenging for a throttle body sometime soon if something good pops up.

Nice trade. What kind of welder did you pickup? All I can say is...practice, practice, practice. Also If you would like to know where I got my material from shoot me a PM.

Duely noted, I mainly just ground it for looks, and yes this dog is worse than my kids haha

Alright, Well to give an idea of how long this build is taking me, here is a comparison of my dog. I got him a few months after my car broke lol

Born on July 4th, He is 6 weeks in this photo

Now he is almost 6 months

he's huge now and annoying, he ate a WHOLE x-mass ham the other day, AND 2 double cheese burgers and 2 mcchickens this morning lol But we love him anyways

    Back to car stuff….

I drove up to bellevue a few months back to go and get this bad boy, brand new never opened for a deal of a lifetime. For a first welder and Never had welded a bead in my life, I had to have it haha

Right now I am running it with just the flux core until I save up for an Argon Tank….(didn't realize how pricey the tanks were) But never the less I started teaching my self how to weld with the assistance of youtube, and trial and error. I have learned a shit ton with just practice and Finding ways to run your beads/Messing with temp and wire feed speed with certain types of material….

So I went down to a Metal supply store in Lakewood. and got a hold of some scrap material. The material I opted to go with is cold rolled mild steel, and a few scrap backing plates and Angle Steele. the dimensions are 1.5 OD Tubing. I had forgot how big the sidewall is and the plate is just some scrap they had around so I got it. I also bought enough material to start building the upper portion of my front bash bar. Just need to get a Pipe bender to make some bends

Here is a few of my first welds

First trying to 'T' Joint some pipe I notched out. Then ground it down because it looked hideous.

Also Painted it the same color I Used for my engine Bay

Here is a shot of the Angled Steel I cut and modified for my Bash bar to mount to. Also you can see the color of the bay.

    And where the magic happens.

Right now I just finished up painting my bay and removing some things, also test fit my E36 steering rack ..

More updates to follow in a few days. Ah, Xmas break is almost over. FML
