Finally picked up an m50, I was about to go s52 but found an m50 block with low compression wisecos for $300. Picked up an m52 crank and some 130mm h-beam rods to get a 2.9l, kind of m20 style. Im scrapping the twincharged idea for now and going with a holset he351ve with a 67mm billet compressor wheel. The plan is to control it with ms3x but if I can't figure out the CAN bus communication I have a design for a mechanical actuator.

Also using a non-vanos head for the single piece valves and dual valve springs. I'll convert it to vanos at some point.

Some pics of the pistons and rods

    Cutting the o-rings

I'm excited to experiment with the vgt turbo, the recent Megasquirt development should make it possible to control the actuator and I have hopes the vanes will last with e85 and meth to cool the egt's

I'll try and fix that I've definitely been lazy in the media department.
Little update, I should be picking up an m50tu from an e34 on wednesday. The plan is a 3 liter stroker, and of course turbo, not sure about the eaton
    My hopeful parts list:
    M54 crank and pistons
    Eagle rods/arps bolts. 135mm
    Schrick 256/264 cams
    11mm arp headstuds
    arp mains
    blunttech mani
    66-76mm garrett or precision snail.

So the head is .005" out in the middle and the first machine shop I went to doesn't want to surface the head, even though it would still be well within the Bentley's spec. I am tentatively looking for a new head just so I'm not on the edge of the spec, but either way I have my sights set on a forged 24v motor in the future

where did you get the 42lb injectors?
Well I've started to max the 42 lbers out at 21 psi, so they up for sale. Ev14 1000cc's in the mail and e85 on the way. PM me if interested

The stock plastic holder wouldn't fit between the valve cover and turbo and I didn't really want hacked plastic.

Unfortunately it looks like the headgasket is leaking, I've overheated a few times and have oil in the coolant, so that's the next project.

Also I'm a little suspicious of my TCD stage 2 clutch, I bought it used here and its supposed to come with the Sachs 618 pressure plate, but the pedal pressure is really light, maybe lighter than before, just has a quicker engagement. The only markings on the pressure plate when I installed it was SACHS, written with an engraver on the front.

Unfortunately I lost the better pictures of the manifold, but I may be pulling the turbo to check the welds soon. Will grab some
