Slight update - All is well with vehicle. Tiny tiny SPAL fan could be larger but it does the job. Kept temps in check during 90+ degree days and having fan shroud on helps immensely. I think this project is just about done. Learned a lot from this community. Now onto more fun!

Small update. Added a small SPAL pusher fan and the correct fan shroud. Car is nice and cool. 13 hour road trip to NY was all well.

Recreated the photo from the first post. Little over a 30 year difference. Adding a spal 13” pusher and removing AC condenser. Hoping the Fan shroud arrives from Germany shortly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Got the vehicle back from Jeremy K at F8 Motorsports. He normally works on exotics but thankfully took this in, he is the shop owner that rebuilt the head. A new vacuum advance solenoid fixed the idle issues. Wiring was the cause of the temp sensor being inoperable so the cluster is accurate now. Remaining projects on it are the misc interior trim and to get the AUX fan on a fan controller. Hope everyone is staying safe in these times.

The Ireland Engineering SSK would not work with the older style steel bracket. It is possible the due clearance I could have bent the rear tab up more, but that wasn't necessary imo. I did meet grab a used later style shifter carrier locally and an E30 M3 mount which did allow for the IE to be installed and clear. However I did have to use spacers on the transmission to raise the carrier. Had a Turner Motorsports rear solid mout (For sale now) but it ended up being way to notchy for my liking as well as brothers. It's not a fast performance car so back to stock it was with a BMW Z3 level and ZHP knob. I did want firmer rear mount for the stamped steel carrier, so I shaved down considerably an E46 M3 transmission bushing. New small BMW connector is on trans so a DSSR needs to be made. In the mean time shaved down plastic bushings. Works perfect. Got a StichBoots M Tech boot to finish it off.

Car is going to a local specialist to diag and fix temp gauge sensor not working and aux fan not turning on. I was going to bypass the stock setup but since this isn't going to be driven by just myself, it should work as designed. Few vacuum related issues and it's ready for 2020!! Really enjoying everyone's builds on here.

After attempting to install the IE SSK ran into the issue where it’s too long and hits the driveshaft. Instructions say mount without silver cup and selector rod may need modified but Ofc this isn’t mentioned. I have even increased the rear height of sheet metal carrier to no avail. Any suggestions that I’m missing something basic? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Got the car back from NYC. Time to fix a few things and tidy up the rest. Only issue it had was a possible overheating. There was coolant out the over on cap, and I’ve been told it will do the same if left idling for a long time. I need diagnosis what is happening. Unfortunately the temp gauge never worked, even though cluster was built by BavRest there is a chassis wiring issue. Grounding out I can’t get the temp to peg for simple testing. More to come on that. Appreciate all the knowledge on the forum! So many cool builds by everyone

I haven’t had anything like that and lots of these kits end up on dedicated track cars. I felt more confident in these hoses than a new stock hardline setup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Full length soft hoses have to expand a lot. I know they didn’t work well on a customers racecar...

Yes my brother did that. The metal panels are larger than the actual holes that were there. It's scrap aluminum from an aircraft. Literally from an airline scrap bin.

Yes soft brake line from the front back by ChaseBays. It takes only a few minutes do it and absolute perfection.

gnmzl - The headers are really nice, love SuperSprint products. It was a good feeling it driving on that road trip. Can't wait to drive it again!

Great stuff, love the "so tiny" pic! Also how the headers peek in the pic on the lift. Happy for you, now that you are enjoying your work of labor.

Evening All - Slight update. All is going well with the car. Has a slight issue where the fuel pump is staying on sometimes even after key out. There is either a shot in the fuel relay box or a bad relay itself. Other than that no major issues. The car is I'd say roughly 90 percent complete. There are some interior pieces I'd like to update and replace. The front window trim still needs replaced and possible retrofit the AC. Hopefully when it's back over the winter in storage I'll be able to complete the few misc things. I'll post a rebuild list to recap the build thread. Appreciate all the help this forums gives. Can't wait for more projects
