Movie popcorn is wayyy too much money

Picked these two up last night, ended up spending more on snacks after tax than I did on a parts door (in goodish condition). $26 and change vs $25. ROI for regal must be like 100x

Recently seen If this ever gets weird.. First time in a long time being in a movie theater. There was a machine that puts "Butter Flavor" on top of the popcorn.. WHAT IS THAT?!

I'm usually discussed by most stuff people call "FOOD" though...

Gotta sneak a microwave in under your coat so you can make fresh popcorn yourself

Used to work inside a Pizza Hut inside a Target inside a mall as a teen, everything is just oil now, even the popcorn kernels came suspended in this yellow grease. Gotta learn to love it or pretend it doesnt exist.

Wow. I don't even remember the last time I went to a movie theater, I think it may have been 2015/16.

Most likely: Canola oil, diacetyl, beta carotine and preservatives. All because butter isn't shelf stable or cheap enough.

I miss those, my local target closed its pizza hut years ago. The little pizza and breadsticks meal was a treat that 20 something me really enjoyed.

Wow I haven't been to a movie in at least 3-4 years. Used to go a few times a year at least.

Inflation is pretty wild here in Canada.
Can't get a McDonalds meal for one person for under $20. Literally double the price compared to 10 years ago.

I have given up on the idea of solo home ownership. Houses in not-so-desirable areas that were 250k 5 years ago are 650k+ today.

My plan is eventually to find somewhere in the USA with cheap land, and set up a trailer while I build a garage.
Preferably somewhere with no road salt and plenty of twisty roads.
Likely won't be until I retire though.

Thats the exact plan me an my fiance have (she doesnt know about the garage yet). Living in Seattle is just so expensive, actually looked into moving to the Washington coast but where rent is cheap jobs are scarce.

Still too far north from what I can see of road salt maps.

Considering the Smoky Mountains in NC/Tennessee as an option, although as of today they still salt in the wintertime.
By the time I retire hopefully(?!) there is enough global warming that they don't need salt anymore.

                            Open to other options though.
I don't need much, just somewhere to rest my head and park a couple cars & bikes.

Southern WV or just over the state line in NC might be affordable bets. Near to fun roads, outdoor stuff, racing, etc, but not too far from civilization should you need to partake.
