Read the last sentance I posted. I learned it from a welding class, we made artsy shit for a school fundraiser, some of which was surface rusted. Don't do it to your car, it looks like dog shit. If you wanna make a statement with your car by making it look like shit buy a VW, that crowd eats that shit up.

Eh best way to get quick even coverage is the link I posted. If you just leave it out it will be heavier in corners than center. Also it can effect structure, the instructions I put up just surface rusts it, if you clearcoat it after it doesn't continue rusting. That being said rusted hoods look like shit.
