That really isn't that bad at all...

Just because you didn't require a back board doesn't mean much of anything. It is not uncommon for people to request to be looked at after a traffic accident. Typically if anyone is transported after a traffic accident, they're strapped to a back board just in case. The medics on scene are not doctors and can not x-ray you and tell you 100% that you do not have a neck or spine injury.

And on the other hand, perhaps the person was planning on suing, as so many people choose to do. So maybe he/she wanted to be treated to claim injuries down the line...

I have thought of it. It is kinda one of those things for me that you think about and just kinda move on because it might make me wanna sell my "small" car and get yet another big car, can't do that as I love my car. I own one of those vehicles that could do just the damage you mention so I try and defensive drive just for that reason, see sig.

I have a question for the OP. Have you thought about the dangers of being T-boned by an SUV? Its bumper being about at your shoulder height, way above any protective door beams. Imagine a bumper giving a blow directly at your head. In your e30, or any other car. So basically, the problem is not small cars, but big trucks not complying to regulations... because they don't have to.

I have seen crash tests of the Smart. The safety cockpit is stronger than any other car I have seen, especially compared to an e30. What can harm the occupants though is the difference of weight between the Smart and, say a fuckin' Hummer or Escalade. The deceleration will be much more for the Smart and its occupants.

good point...but the answer is no lol. These wrecks were all in Raleigh, NC. All while I was attending NCSU and happened 95-99. And oddly enough all of them I was rear ended. Way too many similiarities

The wheel base on the stretcher is about the same as the Smart car's wheel base.
