Small trucks suck. The same fuel economy as a Full size half ton with much less utility.
I'd pick up a Silverado with the 4.8 or 5.3 V8Leave a comment:

If you plan to haul 2 bikes, your probably going to eventually haul more than that. I would go with an F150 and not have to worry about more room later. You can get them for next to nothing if you find someone wanting to just get rid of their beater truck they never use anymore.Leave a comment:

a phantom dakota r/t with a cam sounds f'in sweet
that should be enough power, haha.
But i would look into a 90s f150-250 dirt cheap and great for towing if you happen to find one thats not rusted outLeave a comment:

I see what you're saying.
We have trailers I can borrow from work. Maybe that's the key.Leave a comment:

its not the weight, its the size. the beds are pretty small width-wise and it will be a really tight fit to securely them properly without having them rub on each other, the truck bed fenders, etc. the loading and unloading will just be pretty ugly. 2 dirt bikes in a compact is a tight fit, and sport bikes are even bigger with more parts that don't like to rub together. especially italian bikes.800lbs is a full load for a small truck? That's like three fat guys...
I guess I can look into a bigger truck. I have pulled two R1200Ss from the back of a titan before, so if those wide-ass motherfuckers can fit in a slightly bigger truck, a couple ducs should be no big deal.Leave a comment:

I concur get a good used 1/2 ton, I am a chevy guy and have many s-10 and full size never really had any issues other than normal wear items on any of them.
For you late 90s GM 1/2 ton will serve you well.Leave a comment:

another option is get whatever truck you want and find a used kendon trailer to tow the bikes around. racing season is just about over and you can probably find a used trailer somewhere around the south. they fold up and can be stored just about anywhere. my friend has one we use for track days when we don't feel like loading bikes in my truck and its an amazing trailer.Leave a comment:

a couple of sport bikes? thats a really full load for a compact pickup. you will be bumping handlebars and fairings pretty badly. have you considered a used f150? if you're considering a dakota an f150 is bigger and a much better truck.Leave a comment:
