if he "didn't preach violence", then why make a mission statement that says "NOT peace", two times in a single sentence?
The peace he is talking about is one between families, friends, relationships. Christianity isn't easy, and he knew that relationships would be sundered by and destroyed by people converting to Christianity.

"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it." (Matthew 10:34-39 NASB)

also if you have studied the bible, you would know that all the books are the word of God, the writers are just the people at the type writer.

killing innocents never helped a family.

and i dont pray to the same God as Muslims. The Muslims claim they are the same, but they are not. My God is loving and doesn't command anyone to kill.

'Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: An evil fate' (Sura 9:73).
The food and water thing is simple. The people in power make their lessers kill in hope that their families will get some food or water in a region where there is otherwise very very little.

And you once again show your close mindedness. Muslims come from jews. Where do christians come from? Jews. Good try, but its the same god, they just call him allah, as the jews call him yahwee, and you call him god. They are the same god. Hate and tell me I am wrong all you like, but the leaders of the faiths all say I am right so...

...isn't there a point at which it becomes more work to believe the fairy tale, than not?

fuck this, i'm gonna go work on my car, it's a better use of my time.

    Old Testament again,
    Dever ... demon of pestilence
    Resheph ... demon of plague
Mavet and Mot ... demons of death
    Lilith ... child stealing demon
Pahad ... demon of terror by night
    Shabriri ... demon of blindness
Hez ... demon who attacks with "spiritual fiery dart of the bow"

i believe these were the demons of the ten plagues in egypt. i haven't studied this yet, and i can't really answer. i do know that these are old testament, and once again the old testament is a history, not the mission.

For the same reasons catholics fought in the crusiads. Because the people who have the money, the food, the water, the power, the guns, and so on are the ones twisting the message. And when you have no food, no water, no money, no power, and no way to fight, and also believe what the corrupt priests are telling you, then you do what they say in order to make life better for you family. You see it as such an act of hate, when to the person doing it its an act of love. Not the people planing, they are the hate filled ones, but the people actually committing the act are doing it for their families. Not that it makes it right or gives them any right to do it, but the idea is understood.

And also, it would be closed minded to call you close minded IF you were being open minded. Its great that you have a different view. But the definition of closed mindedness is that you stick to your opion even when others have proven it to be wrong many times.

Calling me close minded is rather close minded yourself mister. because i have a different view doesn't mean im closed minded, it means i have a different view.

You know. I am not a member from any Christian church, or any Muslim branch. And you are giving me the exact reasons why I will keep away. The religious intolerance is frightening. You just made a clear demonstration.
no im staring at the koran and quoting versus.

2:191 And slay them wherever you may come upon them, and drive them away from wherever they drove you away - for oppression is even worse than killing. [168] And fight not against them near the Inviolable House of Worship unless they fight against you there first; [169] but if they fight against you, slay them: such shall be the recompense of those who deny the truth.

i laugh at people who apply one standard to people they disagree with and another standard to those who they disagree with.

if i was a muslim and you called me a nutbag i would kill you for persecuting me.

And so, when the sacred months are over [6] , slay those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God wherever you may come upon them, [7] and take them captive, and besiege them, and lie in wait for them at every conceivable place [8] ! Yet if they repent, and take to prayer, and render the purifying dues, let them go their way: for, behold, God is much forgiving, a dispenser of grace. [9]
