ha ha ha, looking back i probably could have worded this better, but there were some great responses.

btw, i had to google "best pizza", and I found this interesting read:

Anthony's is pretty good for that style of pizza. Coal fired, thin crust. Service sucks and way overpriced. The only place on planet earth to walk in and get 2 FRESH slices and a coke for $6-7 is NY/NJ. And Arinell's on Valencia in San Francisco is a distant second.

the best pizza and wings i ever had was from anthony's on rt 1 in ft lauderdale.
Its so good that he's since opened 7 more restaurants. Rt.1 was the original. Anthony's been here for over 20 years, but hes from LI.

I'll explain through my experiences. Having a lot of friends from Jersey and Boston they're all a little more uptight about things. West coast generally is more laid back when you exclude The Bay and L.A.

Its just a geographical difference though ;)

pizza on the east coast is different. for real. it's fact. just watch any pizza special on food network. there's a reason why they travel to the east coast for good pizza.
you aren't citing geographical differences when you say that real/better pizza is on the east coast. You're voicing your opinion. Same thing with that last little line of yours. So what if food network goes over to the 'east coast for good pizza'.

BTW: I love that style of pizza. One of my favorite places is called Uncle Vinny's. But I also like the totally opposite style of pizza, which is still authentic italian.

There are some pretty good NY-style pizza places up here. I've had a decent amount of the authentic variety (Umberto's in New Hyde Park is fantastic), but a lot of NYC pizzaiolo have begun to toss dough in Rochester and Syracuse, producing pies that rival what I've had in the city.

But for such cheap prices, I am definitely willing to try the new Dominos recipe.

Im agree'ing with this to an extent. Because we have real deal pizza down here. (guys from LI opening up pizzerias) It is just as good, (maybe not conca dora in sag harbor good) the only difference down here being its a hit or miss. On the other hand in NY its very very hard to find bad pizza unless its.. ya know..

Then theres Chicago pizza which is different, but still phenomenal.

Ive basically scaled this country coast to coast. Im sure theres exceptions, but for the most part its NY/CHI or go home.

I agree with you there's exceptions, but as far as "rival any joint"... theres too much bias involved to say who's best.

i literally just almost lost my bladder on this comment.
I found a few awesome Mexican and Cuban spots in the Tampa area...

I didn't say anything about Italians. American pizza as we know it is actually New York-style pizza. Pizza didn't become big in the US until after the GI's returned from Italy. It was in the NYC region that pizza that we eat now originated and became popular.

not trying to be a douche bag. in fact i strive to be anything but. i've lived in other parts of this country, and i agree with you about people on the east coast being douche bags.

I used to own a Domino's Pizza Franchise. The problem is they cook the pizza's in a conveyor oven. And ruin the fresh dough, sauce and cheese they have. I owned the last 3 stores in North America (out of over 5000 stores) to have Bakers Pride stone deck ovens. When they made me go to conveyors I sold my stores. The pizza's were awesome from the stone deck ovens. Tasted more like the mom and pop shop's. I'm from NJ so I know what real pizza taste like. I won't eat pizza out of a conveyor oven. It sucks!
