In CA you could ride a moped with a Learner's Permit, so it was the thing to do until you got your Driver's License. I'll bet a lot of us older guys got our first taste of vehicular freedom on a moped like that.
This is why I got my yamaha in 2007.

sweet mopeds bros, I'm in the process of building a 79 Sachs G3 its getting a 2 speed with clutch and and 80cc kit plus a bunch of other goodies this winter, should do 60+ mph once I tune the kit. Another good site for performance parts is treatland.tv they have a ton of aftermarket parts for a variety of different mopeds.

Sweet! Man that brings back memories. I remember using a friends and having the bright idea to pedal the thing. It was huge for me at 10 to 12 years old, a Yamaha I do believe. You're going to have so much fun!

Thats awesome that that thing topped out at almost 40. This one will barely make it to 30 going down hill. lol. Thats interesting about the air filter, I wonder what would happen if I took the one off of the carb on mine? The carb probably needs a rebuild anyway, I have been lazy.

oh man I loved that thing I use to rip on it down these power lines back around here, they had two dirt trails that went along side of them, I jumped that thing, ran it out of oil at least 5 times, oh man I loved that thing. Got it up to 38 once. Ran it with no air filter. The filter held it back for some reason.
