Sorry for the late response but congrats on the find! My buddy picked up an SV650 for his starter bike, it was also an 01. Same deal, really fun bike, really easy to ride, great sound, etc. If you plan to keep it, I'd look for the full fairing kit (i vaguely recall there being something like that for this model).

Also, I was gonna suggest an SV650 to start with. I think a 250 for most ppl is a waste of time/money. Lemme know when you are ready for some DC rush hour commuting... I'll teach you how to split lanes with courtesy. :)

Not sure about he mileage just yet. I only got to ride it home, we left the day after i got it to go out of town so i didn't even hit the dmv to register it yet :( i will let you know though.

Also i was not too sure about the blue muffler, but it sounds good and looks better than i thought in person.

Nice bikes! I rode a friends back when I was still riding.

Keep your eye out for a wrecked Gixxer 600 to cannibalize the rear shock/front forks and brakes and you'll REALLY have a sweet handling bike.

Just got a bike last night. Picked up a 2001 sv650s for $2500 with only 3900 miles. Its been dropped once by the previous owner and they busted the turn signal but it runs really smooth and fits me. I am happy with it, I was trying to keep the budget below $3000 so I have room to spare.

Vintage Honda's is where its at. This is my 77 cb550f. It was ready for the junk when I got it, took a lot of new and used parts, but i'm only into it about $800 and I ride it everywhere.

first i thought of going with a K75s BMW bike to keep it in the family but then i said hello to a 09 Monster 696 and I is in love!

Nope I actually did it in richmond, so my brother-in-law who is 18 could do it with me.

I am planning on going to someplace in the next few days to sit on some bikes and get an idea of what will fit me.
