The 2 is touching the brackets though, so it directly affects what is in the brackets.
48 / 2(9+3) not (48 / 2) (9+3)
Therefore
48 / 2 (9 + 3)
48 / (18 + 6)
48 / 24 =

yeah order of operations is as stated above somewhere but also left to right.
I get 288
48/2(9+3)
48/2 * 12
now as I remember it Mult or divide left to right and the same for add subtract
24*12
