I shouldn't have said anything about the terminals lol. Proceed with your chillin. -
McNamera terminal is all Delta. The North terminal A gates are used mostly for larger jets. B and C gates are mostly regional puddle jumpers.
North is everything but Delta.
If you're flying out of the North Terminal (Non-Delta), then I've found it's quickest to go through security at the International gates. As it all ends up at the same place. As for food, there is a really nice Japanese place in the upper A20s gate area.
The North Terminal was also featured in the up in the air movie with George Clooney.
I've taken over over 100 flights through DTW in the past year and was drunk every time I got off the plane.
There - I fixed it for you.Leave a comment:

Please see this link. Yes the North Terminal used to have Delta/NW and everything else used to be in smith terminal which is no longer used according to the map and the list. Until NW built the new Macnamar in the early 2000's.

No way. I was just there yesterday. There is no way the tram I was taking was in the North terminal. All the gates were labeled A and there was an underground tunnel to B and C. The North terminal I took when I fly United out of DTW.Leave a comment:

McNamara terminal was opened in 2002, north was opened in 2008.
Everyone used to fly out of mcNamara, now its just international flights and all delta flights. North terminal is just for inter-us flights.
At least, that is what I remember haha.Last edited by AnimalE30; 08-13-2011, 03:23 AM.Leave a comment:

smith terminal isn't that bad anymore - lots of upgrades and updates to it. New carpet, lights, etc. And it doesn't smell like the travelers/workers relieved themselves wherever they pleased...
BUT, I still like the Mac better. The tunnel is trippy. I like to go through it even if I don't have to.Leave a comment:

Ummmmmm
NO North terminal is the old one that delta/NW used to fly out of until we built the NEW McNamara terminal for NW Now part of delta. Delta uses the NEW one on the south end of the field.

Exactly. I switched to the 3D group. Its till the end of the last one's warranty. It will be about a year putting them in. But once the first two go in, I wont have any time to help the installers. Ill just be putting out fires.
Then once Im done, 90% of the 3D group is in ohio/michigan/indiana. So I'll just go back to service.Leave a comment:
