Ok thank you Officer _____, oh what barracks do you work at?
    Northampton
    Thanks

I knew who his C.O. was as he was a coworker....tossed that and chewed his butt.

DOT has all of that data on this stuff. Read thru some old 80's autoweek editions. Heck we still had sealled beams till 89 here in US of A. Only reason we got aero was to help with fuel economy.

^So with what Jason said and quoted law. Is that where low profile tires came from? Kinda makes sense.

    RCW 46.61.680
Lowering passenger vehicle below legal clearance — Penalty.

It is unlawful to operate any passenger motor vehicle which has been modified from the original design so that any portion of such passenger vehicle other than the wheels has less clearance from the surface of a level roadway than the clearance between the roadway and the lowermost portion of any rim of any wheel the tire on which is in contact with such roadway.

I know vehicle laws kinda OK. Understand headlights. Bumper/frame measurements. But that initial reasoning behind it seems a bit of a stretch....have a source?

Mostly has to do with bumper/headlight height. Most of the "bro" trucks are outside the regulations as well.
