I never said it wasn't a direct drop in, I said shoe-horned because it was a tight fit.
Yanking the 6 and dropping the 8 took a lot more than a V8 K member...it took a hell of a lot of time and patience and "persuasion"
That's always been the meaning of shoe-horn to me but maybe you're using some other meaning that I've never come across.

Don't really feel like getting into an argument about polyspherical vs. hemispherical designs

    Versions
The first version of the 318 was known as an A engine and had a polyspherical-head design that was similar to the hemispherical head design of the famous Chrysler Hemi engines. This 318 engine was built from 1957 to 1967 and redesigned in 1967 to produce the more common LA series 318 with traditional cylinder heads. The basic LA version 318 stayed relatively unchanged until 1988 when roller lifters, fuel injection and a new swirl port head design were introduced. This redesign in 1988 resulted in the basic changes to the 318 that Chrysler later in 1992 called the "5.2 Magnum" engine and was used as a performance option in trucks.

we also got to remember that darts was economy cars. but they just need to drop bringing back names that ended way back when. Cause neon is more suited for this car here then dart would be.

    Disappointed and not surprised.

The Dart died back when it turned into the Aspen (thankfully) and it should stay that way.

I predict the PT cruiser returning with a different name "Washing machine on wheels" is fitting.
