Guys, the reason I put I was looking at the TW Steel "Cool Black" line, was to give you an idea of what I'm willing to spend $600-800.

I almost bought one, but didn't think the watch commanded that price. I hadn't heard of them until I saw them in the duty free store on kandahar air base. I had to look them up to see if they were any good. Bottom line is to get whatever you like to see on your wrist every day.

I have a couple really nice watches, but my favorite by far is a fossil watch I bought at ROSS while in Guam a few years back. It just fits me.

If you're looking at dropping $6-800, do a lot of research and check eBay a lot. You can get some used watches at screaming prices with this economy. You can get a vintage Longines or Omega in that range.

As for Rolex, freaking love em. They're one of the few brands that have a huge name everyone knows and actually make outstanding products. Easily one of the best watches to buy if you're not made of money and want an in house movement that is COSC certified. They're a timeless design which hold their value extremely well, sought after models frequently increase in value.

My next purchase will be an Omega PO Liquidmetal

I wore watches all the time but for what little purpose it had, seeing that my cell did the same thing, they just got in the way. I retired my Omega Seamaster 5 years ago.

Vintage Omega.....

This... I have a Sea Master from about '65. Very simple 24K gold case, 19 jewels, and self winding. The watch was restored a few years ago and keeps perfect time. At the time the face was replaced, but the movement is original. Its a small case, but an excellent watch none the less. It might be a little rare as I have never seen another like it.
