Believe me, once the bill passed in Colorado I was going to move there and take it over, then I realized I'm in perfect physical health after a consultation of a Colorado lawyer.
My Ideal would be to become a legal care-taker if anything, not an actually registered patient...Paranoid about being on a list and what-not. You're right, any doctor in their right mind would interview me and say "you are generally healthy; get more sleep, eat right, exercise regularly" before throwing a card at me. Although my cousin out there said that some doctors are really lax and, more-or-less, looking to toss out cards to anyone with the $60 fee

Side note: Fuck prescription drugs and big pharma.

Where I live in Somoma County the limit is 30 plants per card and multiple cards can be combined per household. But just 10 miles south of me in Marin country it's only 8. So to stay legal you need to research location to make a decent wage. I'm not one that takes advantage of the system growing a million plants and shooting for a Ferrari. FFS I drive an E30 lol, I make more than enough to sustain my living standards, but it's a difficult nut to crack. I don't take advantage of patients and dispensaries, I pay myself a decent wage for the time and effort it took to grow the ultimate product, including my externalities such as electricity, pots, nutrients, basically everything. My profit margin is more than generous and that's split 3 ways in one location. Not only do you have to manipulate and sustain plant growth, be prepared for $2k electricity bills. It depends how far you want to go with it, but I wouldn't reccomend packing up and dropping everything because you'd have rent to consider, etc. there's too many variables unless you were planning on coming out here anyways. It sort of fell in my lap Being born and raised here, so I took advantage, I'm not sure if I would pursue it.
Trust me, I have no intentions any more of trying to making a living off of a green life, It's not a feasible option for me, certainly not at this point in time...gotta finish my degree and get a job first...then I can move to colorado and grow my own for myself and, in time, begin donating my extra to the dispensaries.

again, It's neat to see that you can just do that + investments and make a decent living. Plants take a lot of time, energy, and care and I know that you're not just sitting around all day watching the grass grow. + 90-120 plants, that must take hours to water and inspect

And the enjoyment you get from watching a little clone develop through the phases of vegetstion, fighting nutrient lock, bugs, humidity, mold, bugs, to the final blooming phase is like watching a child grow up. (obviously not to that extent) but its rewarding and puts a smile on my face.

thank you for these words of inspiration. they just sealed the deal on my decision of staying here for the rest of my life. thank you.

i'm glad to see that this thread has taken a turn for the intellectual.

Sully, it's neat to see that you can make a living off of the green rush. It had been an idea of mine a few years ago to move out west and hop into a garden but I always had the feeling that, no matter how much energy and time I put into growing, I would not be able to make a living off of it alone. Do you work otherwise?

I (may or may not) know just how exciting it is to see such beautiful plants blow up. It's cool to know that I'm not the only green thumb around here

I have a turn around time of about 8-10 weeks per harvest. It really depends on the strain, and other variables. I tired doing SOG, and other methods to pump them out faster. It quality over quantity. Quite a few babies, it's split between 3 card holders.

Nice, 4 X 1000w is lots of lumens! You must have a lot of babies to look after. How long do you keep them in veg schedule? Digital ballasts?

Fox Farm- Happy Frog Potting Soil w/ PH level of 6.5
    4x 1000w lights: 18HR/6HR growth 12HR/12HR flowering
3D Organics OG Grow/ 3D Organics OG Bloom
Digital ballast. Humidity and temperature controls.
Hellllllla oscilating fans to keep the air moving.
    Constant 75°F w/ 80% humidity for growing, 45% flowering.
Carbon filter exhaust fan, C02 levels kept around 700 ppm

I've basically came up with the formula that works best for me. Lots of trial and error went into this years ago before I got it down to a "t" with nutrient lock, PH levels/humidity/temperature problems, etc. This is why I get offended when people try to talk to me about marijuana lol.
