Yup, with the Moto X's we have, the plan works out to about the usual monthly cost of service for the first year, after that it is paying for itself. I personally got 2 years out of mine and just bought a new phone, wife still has her original.
That's honestly why a lot of people I know don't switch. They somehow find it easier to spend $100+ a month on a plan AS WELL AS making payments on a phone, than just spend $3-400 up front and have a phone for around 30-50 cents a day. Financing a cell phone? Really?
