    Show-off your JEEP's....

Being one of the most awesome vehicles ever produced, and just seeing the thread about Cherokee vs. E36 for a cross-country trip made me realize how much I miss mine. I thought they deserved their own thread, so show me your Jeep.

Here my 1996 Cherokee Sport, the last year of(imo) the best body style. After owning it for 4yrs, these are the only pics I have if it:

In the time I owned it I replace the shocks, rear leaf springs(whores), Tires 2x, windshield(caught a rock, they all leak in the same place anyway), and the starter.

Best vehicle I ever 'owned', period. My wife drove it most of time, bought it for her from the orig owner with about 80k mi on the clock.

I miss mine soooooo damn much. Sold it to get my E30.
It was also a 96 Sport. Had 173K when I sold it. Friend of mine bought it and it's still kickin without issue.

The girlfriend's Jeep she just recently got:

98 Cherokee Sport. She's only had it a few months, but so far so good. Driven it over the pass already and it does amazing in the snow, even with non-winter tires. It has 160,000 currently. Picked it up for $3000.

I do find it amusing that a bunch of Cherokees don't come in 4x4....carry on.

The gray one was my first Jeep and (technically) MY first car. 1990 4.0 5 speed. Traded it for my E30 I never really had to do anything serious to it through maintenance, mostly bushings and fluids.

I got this one, 1997 4.0 5 speed, about a year ago for daily duty while I do work on the E30. So far replaced clutch, exhaust, multiple u-joints, hubs, brakes, etc.

I'll be selling it soon and will probably get another one after it. I've really wanted to do a budget wheeler or something along those lines.

I thought so much about the same thread last night i went out and bought myself an XJ myself today. 2000 Sport, 0 rust in floor or frame, some bubbling around rear window areas. If you were from here you would understand how unusual that is in Canada...
                      Dark now, pics tomorrow.

                      Love this thread...

My 99 XJ 4.0L Classic was one of the worst and best vehicles ever.

I owned it for ~3 years and 35,000 miles. (118,000-150,000 miles)

It was great because the 4wd never let me down and got me anywhere I wanted to go. Snow, mud, slush, dirt, logging roads, etc. All I ever did was add a set of 235 General Grabber AT2 tires.

It was the worst as I had to replace:

                            -Fuel pump
                            -Fuel pressure regulator
                            -Front U joints
                            -Water pump
                            -Thermostat
                            -Fan Clutch
                            -Brake Hard Lines
                            -Brake soft lines
                            -Brake Pads
                            -Brake Rotors
                            -Brake shoes
                            -Rear drums
                            -Rear brake cylinders
                            -Rear brake hard lines
                            -Headlights
                            -Shocks
                            -Swaybar links
                            -Track bar
                            -drag link
                            -steering arm
                            -tie-rod ends
                            -wheel bearings
                            -valve cover gasket
                            -rocker panels

                            It still needed:
                            -Rebuilt HVAC Box
                            -Heater Core
                            -Rear Springs
                            -Rear Shackles
                            -Rear Main seal
                            -Oil filter housing seal
                            -Front springs
-Oil Pan - How does an OIL pan rust out?!

A few winters with little to no heat from a nearly clogged heater core and HVAC valve/flaps that would slam shut when you cranked up the airflow made me decide Jeep was going away.

I loved the freedom of not giving a chit what the weather threw at me and being able to get down logging roads to our summer cabins, but the propensity of it to seem to always be needing something made it the most painful vehicle I've ever owned.
                            Below the radar...

I am interested to see this. It seems a lot of us have had Cherokees and E30s. I have had 2 Cherokees and 2 e30s and I loved both of my Cherokees hunter green and white sport edition and limited
