Welp, I did like 20 almost identical laps with one or two good ones and that STUPID bottom half of the corkscrew ruined them, but I finally got this:

This - I started using hotlap mode and was impressed how well the e30 kept up with my other C-class ghost. Awesome time, dude.

I'm not sure how to do that...do you have to do it right when you do the lap? If not, I'll find one of mine.

Did a little bit more running tonight, messing with pressures. I too found more pressure in the rear tires yielded better results. I was able to keep things in the 45-46 sec range, but I was not able to beat my previous 1:45.5xx time. I can't wait to mess with it some more tomorrow, now that it looks like I'm on the right track.

FWIW - I imagine acceleration stats and stuff like that are going to be relatively accurate, since they can be approximated pretty well. The tire physics, of course, are the real issue. Supposedly, they spent a good deal of time on it for Forza 4. I don't think you could compare lap times down to the second, but it's probably pretty true to the "X car is faster than Y car around Z circuit" level

[EDIT] Holy cow! The top 3 are within ~.15 sec of each other. Looks like Saturday is going to be pretty exciting...

Uh oh, back to 3rd...got a 45:635, but that doesn't seem worth posting now. Guess I'd better get to it tomorrow. I think there's definitely time figuring out how to keep the rear in around corners. It has a tendency to oversteer.

I've been wondering the same thing but more so with how these lap times reflect real life lap times.

Pressing in one of the sticks will bring up a stats screen while driving, showing tire heat, body roll, etc.

Wow, so I just did some reading and apparently you can do all that?! I just got super stoked about this game. I could even figure out optimum tire pressure for the Cortina maybe! So cool. I wonder how to check warm tires...
