Sure. Watch the white line to the right of the car. Seems as if the driver chose to swerve left, too late to change once you pick.

That's one reason I would like to see seconds 7 and 8 looped!:p

^^That. The weirdest was when a peacock (male, with plumage)jumped my old Isuzu Trooper, and smashed against the flat windshield. Very weird.

Same road, a deer jumped out in front of me one evening, and I broadsided it with my Tacoma. It made a zizzing sound as it slid a long way on the pavement, ending up down an embankment. The front of the truck must have hit it smack in the side of the belly - no truck damage at all.

I kill a lot of bugs with my visor when I'm riding the Buell.

So if I were to hit an animal with my vehicle, get out and see that it is still alive but won't possibly recover, will I be within my rights to get my .38 out of the car and euthanize it? I assume if you're within city limits somewhere it is illegal, but otherwise OK?

I've wondered the same thing about my dogs. If one were to get hit by my house and I was pretty sure he wouldn't make it, I'd probably just take him to the back yard and end it for him. I technically am within the Seattle city limits, but I live in a fairly rural place (an acre on the Duwamish river). Not sure if I could get in to trouble for that, but I'd likely do it anyway. Sucks that I don't have a .22 though... not sure what would be the best choice between .38, 12GA bird shot or .308, lol.

I was in the car when we hit a dog.
    Ran over his head.
He was alive for about 10 sec.
    Running in circles, crying loud!
    His head was literally flat!
    It was pretty sad.
But stupid dog ran under the car going 10mph in a mini van.

it says you live in PA. I am sure you have deer there. when they come out from a row of trees with a CANAL on that side (you wouldnt think they would be there) and your doing 55 MPH. Its damn hard to avoid.

the only time you can avoid is when you see them in the distance, and the light glares of there eyes, then you slow WAY down, and wait for others. there is ALWAYS others!!

When I had my Accord and was obsessed with being vertically challenged I came around a bend on a county road and ran right over a dead raccoon lying in the road. Ended up dragging it at around 50mph for a solid 1/2 mile before it popped out the rear.
Made some pretty disturbing sounds and smelled awful for a while.

Took out a dachshund back in high school.

Was driving down a street in the subdivision not far from my house when the little thing ran in front of my truck. Locked up the brakes.

Apparently the dog was in front of the right front wheel. It left a 4-foot long stripe of blood/entrails on the road. The owner watched the whole thing.

Deer are extremely unpredictable animals that you could be HYPER focused and they will jump out in front of your car giving you enough time to slam the brakes to soften, but not avoid/prevent hitting them.
