Grind, smooth, fill with weld...repeat till sexy!

    ;)

Little bit left to smooth here. I could not find my carbide bit for the die grinder.

This is so sick! I love building shit like this.

I now have to wait on the forks to get in to place the tank with the handle bars. Other than that I have just a swing arm to make. Waiting on someone to sell the Puch Magnum swing arm, it is perfect and just needs to be extended 6" for the mean look.

General 5 stars are my favorite. Maybe sell me the rest of the bike?
check this one out, the swing arm is ridiculous

Everyone seems to go with a matte black finish. I am leaning more to a white with black accents. Kinda like the teal and black combo of the one you posted.

Here is the build to that picture you posted. I bookmarked it because of the swing arm. I am going to same route but less extreme.

Today started great! Got a rare general 5 star top mount tank. Looks so awesome! Just waiting on my new EBR forks to place the tank with the handle bars.

It was raining today...got some stuff done ;)

How it looked with new tires and chrome sanded and done in black.

    Completely bare frame!

Cut the top of the tank to allow room to fit the new top tube.

Ground the factory seam smooth for the rear of the tube.

Ground the ends to match the frame for a tight fit.

    Rear

    Front

Bracing the top tube to the Puch, keeps the fork tube in place.(Don't mind the ugly tac welds. I closed my eyes haha)

More tacs and removed the tank.

Cut out a plate cover for the hole from the tank. Then made a bottom tube and bent it to add room. Also added another bracing towards the front.
**NOTE!! I do not like the swing arm, I will be picking up some thin rectangle tubing and making my own. I just tac'd it there to get an idea. It adds 4" from stock.

Have to finish the rear fender and make the swing arm. Other than that I am 75% finished with the build. Ordered EBR forks since the stock ones fell apart haha! Hoping to picking up a General 5 star tank. My buddy said he wants to sell the whole bike. Might get it for a good price!

Right now I am jumping from a hard tail. Or retaining the stock design and making my own swing arm. Both paths are custom, it is just too soon for me to really know what setup I want. I am leaning more at the custom swing arm and retain the springs for comfort.

I am doing a complete cafe from this.

They are amazing, it will be even better once the engine is woke up with that big kit!

    On topic:

I am VERY excited to start this build. I have been inspired by many before me with amazing frame up builds to convert them into slick legal road blasters.

My plans are going to be:
-Custom swing arm to house the 2.75 tires that do not fit currently.
-Top tube support beam/Puch frame fuel tank delete.
    -Top tube fuel tank
-Front and rear mechanical disk brakes
    -70cc phbg conversion kit:
    port matching for added flow/power

End result will be along these lines below:
    I love that.

Tell me more. I'd love to ride one of these around the city and freak everyone out.

What kit did you order? I've always wanted to build one and read so much in anticipation that I'm somewhat knowledgeable about them, but it turned into motorcycles. Got a 125cc enduro a while back, sold it and then got my first e30. Was a blast, really wanna get another one someday. what pipe are you gonna run?
Did you read post #52? There is all the info and a picture of what I am going for. Delete the stock frame tank then fab/mount a top tank.
I have a top tank from a Magnum style moped. I will see if it works for my plans, if not I will cut it up and make new sections for a custom tank. Wonderful thing about a welder! Anything with metal can be made.

I have this kit paid and inbound right now:
the puch 70cc treat kit + PHBG party supreme!! VERSION I. a winning collection at a price that is winning also.

I want to make the frame more skelton/bare. I have a tubing bender that I bought to build my cage on my e30. I will most likely end up bracing from the seat to the forks. Then removing the Stock Puch tank/frame and make my own. We will see how much has to be hacked up.

Stay tuned, this is going to be happening fast. Only thing that was holding me back was the kit. Now that is inbound I can design the frame around the filter placement.
