Not talking about it or walking away from the discussion is totally different than bashing it, or being a Debbie downer on someone else ride

Thats what I was looking for!

I guess its style versus brand. You can be brand loyal, style loyal, or a mix.

Like Mike pointed out, he dont like Fords. Or VWs. He wasn't an asshole about it. Just stating his opinion. I'll toss out I don't like most Ford's, watercooled VW's, 98% of four door cars, Mercedes Benz, stance cars, and the list can go on. Does that not make us enthusiasts about cars? Because we don't like certain ones? That's like saying someone don't like ice cream cause they only like vanilla and not chocolate...

    Well said.

For me it boils down to self confidence. Usually the ones that are the loudest in their hate or offended-ness about others are the ones least secure in their own choices.

I think the hate is stronger with the foreign car guys.

Look how much hat Honda gets on these forums. Honestly I don't understand why.

Sure, there are a bunch of people out there who rice them out. But go to your local track day and look for some of the most winning and most competitive cars. Yep you guessed it, probably a Honda.

Discrimination is part of the human condition. I don't car much for most modern domestics, but if someone else connects with them, then whatever.

I also grew up around domestics. My grandpa has a 1970 440 4 speed barracuda, my uncle has a 502 BB camaro. ect ect ect.. I watched/helped them work on their cars. Thoes cars are responsible for getting turning me into a car nut. I really wanted to get a 65 mustang coupe as my first car but I ended up getting my E46 wagon. After driving it around for a while Im now a BMW freak all the way. Would I still take a 1969 L78 396 Camaro? HELL YES! who wouldnt? I have an apreciation for European cars, domestics, and tuners. Honda S2000 for example, little 4 cylinder that revs to like 9 grand and makes 240 hp!!! Who wouldnt love that?

    heck, I even love trucks!

This^ a good number of my friends own amazing trucks built for pulling. They never mock my car and always enjoy looking under the hood. Same with me for their trucks. It is the person, not what you drive.

Carburetor bro .... But seriously it's because they have never driven anything foreign. Buddy of mine only drove Chevy trucks until he drove in a friends e30 and now he owns 2. Different people like different shit and always think the shit they have is better lol

he has just as much of a right to hate BMWs as you do to like all makes of cars. I don't let it bother me, they are just small dick syndrome idiots. I hate all things Ford and VW myself.
