here is a great one at a cheap price. unfortunately, its impossible to find. my local liquor store got in a case a couple months ago. i bought 6 bottles to squirrel away. my wife keeps giving them away to business associates. i started hiding it.

if we are talking about bourbon, this one is the one to end this thread. i have tried it a couple times in various whiskey bars around the country. it is the holy grail to own one of these. msrp is around 150-200.00. the secondary market price is around 1200.00. i would be willing to pay around 500.00 for one if i could find it.

    Both excellent choices.

If you like Yamazaki 18, try Caol Ila 18 and Ardbeg Uigeadail.

As for Nikka, I haven't tried the Taketsuru 17 yet. But the regular "From the Barrel" stuff is pretty good. The Taketsuru 17 is next on my list.

Gin guys, try the Ransom Old Tom Gin. I feel embarrassed to report my bottle is already showing significant wear. It tastes so good!

Made a Fog Horn, a Bloodhound and a Gillete Cocktail from The Ideal Bartender's Guide from 1917. http://www.gutenberg.org/files/13487...-h/13487-h.htm

    Super!

I have to put another vote in for Yamazaki 18, amazing shit. But for more daily I always have Johnnie Walker (eh its drinkable) Black and Bulleit Rye around.

Right now my bar has a couple bottles sitting in it.
    Nikka Pure Malt
    Suntory Single Malt
Some other random bottle of Suntory that is in all Japanese that I got in Japan last year
    Glenlivet Master Distillers Reserve x2
    Johnnie Black and Double black
Bulleit Rye (For my old fashioned needs)
    Crowne someone left
Green Spot I hide from all but my good friends.

Jamison, but I'm not really much for whiskey. Gin is my preference.

My wife and I have been enjoying Dewars "12 year" blended scotch. really tasty and smooth. i usually dont like whiskey much, like jack just tastes like charcoal to me but the dewars is really woody taste that is really nice.

    Jim Beam Rye to mix.

Eagle Rare . Just 10 year. 17 year is wicked pricey.

And my pallet cannot appreciate the differences.

What's the story with the yazamiki?

    Gibsons finest
    Wisers Deluxe
    Forty Creek

in canada all prices are regulated. and a 60 oz bottle will run about 55-60 bucks

    black velvet
    royal reserve
    wisers special blend

all will do in a pinch

I believe they are distillery only; haven't seen them outside of there.
