We explore other planets. Of course its because we have curiousity, but that is also our natural desire to expand and see more places. Thats how we see it. How does earth see it? We're crippling it. A good person, granted, of course would be all of those things. Possibly more, who knows, but you don't need to be ALL of them to be a good person. However, if you do believe all humans are trash and garbage, sure, I'd personally bin you too. That means trash. All humans are garbage? Ok, you are too. I was referring to anybody that might do stupid things, whether they're stupid or not still is up for debate depending who you ask, doesnt mean theyre automatically bad. Thats all.

By the way, I don't do that shit, or believe really in it anyway. I was playing devils advocate. I really am not concerned either way WHAT we are, we're humans, and we're here. Not mars, not pluto, not the moon, here.

My response was directed more at Brew.
I agree you don't need to be a puritan to be considered a good person by many. But for someone to view humans like that, I personally think is bizzarr.

Theres a reason I use quotations eh?
Don't respond because there is no good answer for that.
He thinks the human race is a fungus and is here to spread and shit everywhere. Great outlook on life.
A good person is relative only to a point. Laws and customs are what start the defining a "good" person. Honest, hard working, would go out of his way for others, considerate, doesn't cheat others etc. All of the above would be considered a "good" person.
How can you do the above yet have the idea all humans are trash??

Being a good person is all relative. People who don't use drugs could be complete assholes and pieces of shit that shouldn't waste another breath, whereas its also JUST as possible for people who are "evil" or "bad" or whatever, stoners, misfits according to others, but be the nicest people in the world, and be good to others. That's certainly a step in the right direction in being a good person. I don't care what they do, if they're not a dick, or arrogant, or whatever, they're a good person. Of course like I said, its all relative. It depends who is judging, whether its you, me, them, or anybody else. People can be good AND bad, depending who you talk to. Its your opinion, but it doesn't make them not a good person. The comment about spirituality and drug use is also pretty funny. It doesnt mean people are not spiritual if they use drugs, give me a break. Many people are more in touch spiritually as far as I am concerned, once they use some shit and "see" beyond whatever is limiting us in our locked state of mind. Funny I thought of a newer Verizon phone, with all of its locked out features and disabled functions. Its a POS unless you spend all sorts of money, or hack it.

I couldn't help but respond to that. That assumption is absolutely fucking ridiculous. I wont even get into why even further, I started to but I cant stand it.

Please explain to me how you could possibly be a "good" person if you think that way...truely.
I'm not talking about the psychedelics. Although I think that's a crock as well. They just fuck with your mind.

Check out the Rogan video on the "flotation tank" or deprivation tank. His description is pretty intense. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEjTX...elated&search=

I'm going to tell you guys right up front. I don't agree with Mr. Rogan, or the use of drugs of any sort, HOWEVER... it's pretty dang interesting.

... and this is actually a pretty cool discussion.

well wow, i didnt know joe was all about this!
and he hit that shit on the head, everything he was talking about... except about his discription of an experience. that will vary from person to person and trip to trip.
i was lucky enough to have an experience of an extreme journey which pretty much paralyzed any will to do anything other than delve into the depths of my psyche. my sight gave way to the most amazing visions and ideas into pure knowledge. in the end, you forget everything... though i was prepared knowing this, i had recorded it. and yet, the rest of that week, i was so humbled, it was like nothing anyone said could bother me because i felt like i had the most profound experience... nothing could compare.

i had to go look it up to see if Terence McKennas archives were still available on species evolution and the need for psychedelic development, but has since been removed due to age or required bandwidth... which sucks
McKenna suggests that its these experiences, much like dreams, are important in the advancement of a psychological growth. ...ever wonder how humans got to this level of evolution in such a small amount of time? ever wonder where the origins of religion came from? please dont quote me to saying this kind of thing is the answer to origin, but there is not enough evidence to prove man's place in nature was not assisted by excessive use of chemicals provided my mother earth.

Personally I believe the biggest failure of humans is not realising the body is just a body. The brain is not the "person".
If Joe really thinks that way, he can't possibly be a "good" person.
I think it's ignorant to think that we are limited to a material world. There is definately more going on that just what we know empirically. I also believe that psychadelics help people understand this. Someone who has expanded their mind through the use of psychadelics is much more wise than the arrogant bastard that thinks he is better because he has never tried them.
