I know how frustrating cops can be in situations like that. I had a window broken out of my old car while parked at my gf's house. We knew who did it but there was nothing that could be legally done because there weren't any whitenesses.

No, I don't know the situation, but if this is a continuing problem, you did something at some point. Maybe he did something to you for no reason, but the way you responded got him fired up.
