    Finally... the voice of reason....

For what I paid... it really doesn't matter if the driveline takes a dump.... it's just a good reason to put something else in to it.

I love the way the car looks, it's really the only reason I bought it... plus, it has zero rust!

I never been in one yet (AM), but a E31 would probably be kill my unreasonable desire for an Aston Martin. There's a car that has tranny issues & I think the repair bill **might** edge E31 parts. Just a little.
Not always. Even if they are put away working 100%, you still get a chance of pulling it out not working. ;) Based on past storage history.

I was purely trying to keep the mis-nomer that they are GREAT cars from spreading and some poor sap buys one and thinks "Oh sweet, awesome looking GT BMW I can drive!" only to find out its a money pit of epic proportions. That's not to say they can't be fun, great, classy, enjoyable... just not "bullet proof" like a cheap e30.

FWIW, there is one sitting on a lot I drive past every day to work. It's been there for over 18 months....

All I can say is I was close to buying one - and there's a reason some sell for 8k and others 30k - when the look the same and have the same amount of miles.
