how many times did you have to restart your computer to get that typed? ;) and the reason that they only own 2% (if that is even true) is because you can get a pc for like 20$ bucks and a quality machine cost 2500$. i would like to see you sit down and work with a mac. (if you could figure out how to use it) you would be amazed at the way it does what it is supposed to do. it seems to me that you are just a sterotypical pc user that likes to reboot your shit box because it makes you feel like you did something. have fun with your blue screens of death, and you dirvers, and your lack of ease of use. not to mention the constent upgrades because of bugs and the bone chilling fear that your entire hard drive will be taken over by some 13 year old virus creation!!! go to the apple store and do like the other i guess 98% of the people and just play with the cool shit and continue to wish for a mac.:finger:

    thanx...phlip

    peace!!!

so i have to go to the site....

decide i want to download the video codec (from a shady source)...

have it automount (yes that is not so good)...

and then decide to give it root access by typing in my password and username?

wow... i am sorry but any idiot who is dumb enough to do that is doomed anyways. this is merely Intego or whatever that company, trying to sell security software to mac users.

i was refering more to the guy that was quoted on the link that you posted. he says :

"I can sum it up in one sentence: OS X is the new Windows 98.
The same gang infects Windows machines as well, just that now they also target macs.[...]"

and yes i agree i would also like a turbo grafix the only difference is it would be SPLATTER HOUSE ftmfw!!!!

After having used PC's since the mid-1980's, I switched to Mac not too long ago. There's no way in hell you can compare a Windows-based PC's in terms of security. Even if a virus like this pops up once in a while, it's nothing like what you've got to deal with on a PC.

BTW, I'm still getting used to: (a) my computer never crashing; (b) having everything work the way it's supposed to; (c) "plug and play" that really does; (d) being able to install and uninstall software without screwing up your registry and destabilizing the system; and (e) the incredibly quick and efficient means of locating files...unlike the useless "Search" function in Windows.

Throw in the fact that the hardware prices are actually quite reasonable, and you've got a winner all around.

    And I would take a TurboGrafx 16 over a PS3 anyday. Bonk's Adventure FTW.

UPGRADE TO LEOPARD!!!!:finger:
