Christmas is a weird time for me. My mother, step dad and sister are actually christian and go to church. I don't consider myself christian or religious at all, so I feel strange celebrating Christmas. But real Christmas isn't about giving or receiving gifts anyways. But I've done it since I can remember and it would also be strange for me to just stop one year. I'd be an outcast in my own family, and I enjoy being able to go home for almost a month and actually get to visit with them. I won't be able to do that so much when I get out of school. And besides that, I actually enjoy buying gifts for people. I like the challenge of thinking of something creative and that they will actually use. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't like receiving gifts as well. But I'd still rather just get things like clothes, gift cards for groceries and tools... stuff that I need or will use frequently.

I already told everyone to save their money and buy themselves something. Asking for stuff at my age, not like I am super old, is pretty pathetic. If I want something I can afford, I get it, if not, I save for it. Christmas and the whole gift giving thing is good when you are below middle school age, but as you grow, you see things in a different way. I hope my family is with me for many more years because to me it is about getting together, spending time, because sometimes you realize those close to your may soon be gone. So if you think I am some sort of nut, fine, if not and you get more joy in giving than receiving, then good for you. But overall, I hope everyone has a nice holiday season and stays safe and enjoy themselves.
