the vw fuel injection wasnt a prob. its the diagnostic part of it is what sucked, you cant just plug into them and get your p0xxx you have to do tests to determine the problem, however the fuel injection its self was very good, even the digi set up was good, you just need to understand it,

Is the fuel ejection program some kind of proprietery system on VWs? What exactly was wrong with their fuel ejection?

Is it comparable to the charcoal canister? If so, what could possibly go wrong? Does it leak?

my own experiences show me that, at least up here in the PNW, the VW crowd is a step above the others. I was into honda/acura when I was young, ended up with a few nissans and that "crew" drove me away soooo damn fast. there are always some "smug" or "a-hole" crews in any type of car crowd tho ... anyway, I went from VW to BMW totally on accident, literally. I wrecked my '06 Rabbit and was looking for a MKII Jetta coupe and stumbled upon this '84 318 that was just freakin immaculate and all original 8-)

Sounds like the current e30 dilemma.

My experience in terms of vw crowd is a group of people similiar to bmw crowd in that they act like other cars are crap. I know alot of the mkiv and mkv guys who get ragging hard-on's for smoking people in drag racing/street racing but when I point out that there's more to life than a straight line they call me a smug bmw owner. This attitude reminds me of the honda crowd, especially the gti's with obnoxious exhausts and bov's. I personally like hatches and the tdi engines, but since I haven't owned one or have one a lot the vw crowd just looks at me stupid when I inquire about there cars and talk cars.

like the 84 gti is one of the funnest vw's to drive. The problem is finding one in good shape and understanding that its not going to be fast unless you do a motor swap. The swap is not hard to do and the parts are fairly cheap. Just finding the body becomes the chore. My other VW which I do not have a picture of was a 81 scirocco S. It was that orange color. I called it the German General Lee. It was fun as hell to drive but slow as hell!

I didn't mind getting rid of the G60 - as you said before it's not really the car so much as the owner history. Once I had my charger rebuild and sorted out the car's various issues (charging problems, bad grounds, etc.) it wasn't a bad car. I miss my SLC to this day, and I'm constantly lurking the Corrado classifieds on Vortex trying to find an example that matches up to my previous car at a sane price.

PS - I remember you from the Corrado forums :)

What about the Mk1's? What kinda quality or issues are you looking at with them?

    No.

It's something you hear from people who buy abused VWs and have issues with them. Usually it's due to poor maintenance or hack work by the P.O.

Also I didn't get out of VWs. I still own a VW and will probably own more in the future.

Glued down carpet in fucking Rabbits? Yeah...ask any old installer what they think about vdubs...everyone I know hates them.

Oh yeah, this thread was not about that, was it? Installers hate BMW more than VW.

    Gotta love that!

    Thanks,
I replaced the vw with an audi as a daily, and got the e30 as a fun car to play with. Always wanted to try RWD after a number of FWD and AWD cars. I am not a brand fan.

Massive amounts of under steer and traction issues. The new vw crowd are mostly made of ex honda owners that are clueless on how to actually fabricate anything and have no originality.

two of the 3 that I once owned....

this was my old Audi CQ S2 look alike. Had her after my GTI and after realizing how expensive it was sold it in 1 year. She was a pretty car though...
