Probably because VW stands for very weak. They're weaksauce cars. Most of their lineup is JUNK. Jetta...HAH! I'd rather save several grand, and have the more powerful and better looking altima. Passat...HAH! I'd buy anything before I buy a new passat. Phaeton (if they still make it? I forget)...for 90k....why not a fully loaded 750iL or a Benz S550. Sure, the r32s are bad-ass, but who cares!??!? If I had 35k burning a hole in my pocket, I'd pass right over the r32 and buy a used C5 Z06.


Back when they made an affordable GTI 1.8t...I might have respected VWs in a roundabout way (I still love some of the older ones)....but that's one company whose lineup has become bland, generic, and gone down the shitter.

Have you ever owned one yourself? All cars have a following, even the heinous 2+2 version of your 300z.

i'd say that car's purpose is obviously meant to just be a rolling showcase of that particular sprayer's skill.
