no i have graduated high school and work full time. it is possible that im still under an insurance policy that considers me under 18, or the cop could have been wrong.

You said you had a bill of sale from one hour earlier, that cop was wrong, or the story is missing components, and or fabricated.

I'm glad you broke it down for me, because I wasn't really getting it.

So what you're saying is, you appreciate when you're given the opportunity to break the law and the police don't ticket you.

Sarcasm aside, the point is these threads go both ways. If that officer would have ticketed you, you'd of posted a thread about how you hate cops in MN. Cops and the tickets don't raise your insurance, you breaking the law does.

Thats not what you asked, you asked "would your insurance rates go up because the cop gave you a ticket, or because you broke the law?"

Let me make this simple for the 2 operating brain cells you seem to have left.

Me breaking the law + cop giving me ticket = rates go up = me pissed

Me breaking the law + cop not giving me ticket = rates don't do anything = me happy

Now lets have a theoretical situation to help you better understand this

Me not breaking the law + cop giving me a ticket = rates go up = me really pissed.

Do you see the trend? WHEN YOU GET A FUCKING TICKET YOUR GOD DAMN RATES GO UP.

Now I will ask you again, please get off your fucking high and mighty horse. Like you NEVER break traffic laws. I will be pissed all I want about getting a ticket, so fuck off.

You come in here all ready for battle, "Oh how I love these threads." like you are about to grace the world with your wisdom, maybe showing the rest of us peasants how we are wrong. Like I said, I would be "pissed as fuck" in my own words for my insurance rates going up. Regardless of fault, I WILL BE MAD. Then you just reiterate what I just fucking said "Either way, you'll find cops are human, and if you explain the situation, and are respectful, you can get out of a ticket." No fucking shit, DID YOU NOT READ THE FIRST FUCKING POST, or maybe you didn't even read the title? Its called " Speaking of nice cops in mn...."'

Stop trying to be so much better than anyone else, stop being a little hypocritical douche, like I said, I would find it VERY hard to believe that if you got a ticket for whatever reason, you wouldn't be mad at all.

But why would the cop have given you a ticket? Because... you broke the law.

    Cause and effect.

He even had coverage, abeit without proof. In all truf he was insured, under a coverage policy that would/should cover a car purchaced 1 hour prior.

As for the OP, who the fuck drives around with expired plates while having the valid ones in the glove box? If you waited that long and have them that close it seems pretty dumb not to go ahead and put them on to save the trouble.
