Many representants of the constabulary force have forgotten that their corporate signature reads "To serve and protect". Many times, giving a short lecture and only a warning will bring better results than hitting with a huge fine. I have respect for "good" cops.

i got pulled over last week bringing home a e36 328is.(m52>m20 ETA) all i had was a bill of sale from a hour earlier. i had my brother following me cause the car had bad tabs, so when my brother realized (after obviously running his plates) that the cop was gunna try and run mine he decided to act drunk to get the cop to pull him over. so i see him in the rear view mirror slowing down then speeding up over and over, finally the cop decides to pass him (single lane road) so my brother tries to speed up and cut the cop off. unfortunatly my brothers stock 85 vw cabby doesnt have much acceleration. the cop pulls me over instantly. im insured through my mothers insurance, so i guess i cant drive a just bought car and be insured. so he gave me to options either be towed or have my mom come drive it home. so i went with the obvious choice and left the scene with no tickets or warnings.

so with that im basically saying props to mn cops

You just bought the car. You buy a car at a dealership, Do they make you tow it home because you bought it on Sunday and the paperwork isn't done? Nope. What about a new car, do you have to tow it before the plates get mailed to ya? Nope. Every state I've ever heard of allows 7-14 days for registration, bill of sale, transfer of ownership. You said you had a bill of sale from one hour earlier, that cop was wrong, or the story is missing components, and or fabricated.

Why can't it be insured? You should have like a 2 week grace period when you get a new car to put all the paperwork through.

I got pulled over by the walser dealer up in the cities buying my sisters mk3 like 45 min after I bought it. Cop never said anything about insurance, I didn't even have my card with me.

In regards to blunts post.

Just got pulled over coming home. It was 12:30, roads were dead. Got pulled over for not stopping for a right on red (its right by my house, there was no one at the intersection). Anyways, I saw a car fly up behind me on the frontage road I turned on to, I though maybe it was some drunk fuck because he was cruising. I was going ~40mph in a 30, which is pretty slow for that road, most people push 50 on it. Then I realize it was a cop.

Pulled me over for blowing the red, license plate light out (which I didn't know about), and expired tags (I had new ones I JUST bought in the glove box).

Apparently he didn't notice me not having a front plate, or that I was going over the speed limit. Just let me off with a verbal warning.

Anyways, that cop gets +1 in my book. I would have been pissed as fuck if I got a ticket. I have been doing so good the last year. My insurance just dropped to $68 a month for full coverage. It was $140 and before that $210. This is the cheapest I has ever been for me.
