CF would flex a lot more before breaking then aluminum would before bending. Pot holes would be fine, but walls are a different story. But who the hell runs their car into walls on a regular basis?

I'd say no to hitting a wall. I do know Dymag is popular on the newer 996+ P-cars. I've seen two cars with the wheels, one a turbo-vert, and one a gt2. Not sure on the specific year. Both are streetcars.

Right they are. The entire barrel is CF. :) There are some companies making the centers out of CF as well.

If CF wheels were as good as people might think they might be, we'd be seeing them on F1 cars. As far as I know, they're still using a mag wheel.
I bet that wheel has a coating of CF.
