Get some bailing wire or zip ties.

And bailing wire and bar chain oil.

I would also bring a long a "pop" rivet tool just in case you need to appropriate some road signs for floor boards.

yeah im going to pack a distrib, points, an ohm meter. i figure i can get an electric fuel pump most anywhere. got any other suggestions??

When I did 2500 miles in my 76 2002 I had a voltage regulator, cap, rotor, points, a few feet of fuel line, some silicone and some tools.
