Calling all Metal-Heads...

haha no doubt, good place is to follow an online metal blog and be on the look out for new bands. some people, like myself, love to seek out new bands and be one of the very first to listen to them. I heard of BTBAM back from their 2nd album Silent Circus and I was listening to Dillinger Escape Plan since Calculating Infinity...I listened to Underoath back when they were a normal metal/hardcore band. There is some weird satisfaction you get when you know you're ahead of the crowd ;) -
Yah. I like them a lot. I just have not heard of them. People say I am weird. I do not aggressively seek out 'new' music like I probably should. I like what I like. So I find out about Eluveitie and go to some shows and suddenly I have 10 new bands I love. Seen them all live.
I go to BTBAM show and getting all their albums. This leads to others. It is a slow process for me. Right now I am stuck on the folk/viking metal... I just love it.Leave a comment:

Yah. I just put up more of my 'choice' in music just above. I just find much of the black/death/whatever is just noise to me. It isn't bad but just the screaming/growling 100% doesn't appeal to be. Some of my favorite stuff is more like As I Lay Dying, Soilwork and Gwen Stacy(as well as Devil Wears Prada). I love growling/screaming but I like a melodic chorus.Leave a comment:

meh, sometimes you gotta weed out the shitty bands.I like some of what is in this thread but my taste leans more towards the more odd metal bands and then metalcore. I enjoy Folk Metal and the many sub genres from Europe that go along with it. Metalcore is also what I enjoy. The black metal/death metal isn't bad but it is a lot of 'noise' IMO. I enjoy screaming/growling/etc but my taste leans more towards getting a nice chorus in there somewhere that is more 'musical'.
most of the black metal I listen to is burzum mayhem bethlehem dimmu oldmans child etc.Leave a comment:

I actually enjoy Between the Buried and Me. My cousin came up from FLorida just to see them as they weren't stopping in Florida. I had not heard them as it is not really my 'type' of metal/hardcore/whatever but after seeing them live... the crowd and the band put on a show!
Was amazing live...
My actual taste leans more towards metalcore and odd types of metal like folk metal... they are not nearly as thrash/hard/heavy as much in this thread... I have found that the live show really changes my opinions on bands. I had so much fun at Amon Amarth, Eluveitie and Korpiklaani(and others). It makes me like the band so much more.
Eluveitie - Inis Mona:
Gwen Stacy - The Fear In Your Eyes
Amon Amarth - Guardian of Asgaard
Korpiklaani - Wooden Pints
Tyr - Hail to the Hammer
