Skating banks used to be my absolute fav - so needless to say I really enjoyed that vid rub. Ankles are too effed now for skating.... :( Thank God for stiff snowboard boots! :)

No, but bear in mind I was stationed in cali in the mid 80's. Did they used to call it the Del Mar Skate Ranch? I remember reading about it in Thrasher.

Is Thrasher still around? I still have some old Thrasher Skate Rock compilation cassettes. (haha, tapes!) I dust one off every once in a while to listen to some JFA.

i think that they dozed Upland 5-6 years ago. it was a fun park. that 3/4 pipe was nuts!

did you ever make it to DelMar before it was dozed into a hotel?

I dont know how you guys ride these new decks. They look too narrow.

I ride an 8.5 inch deck, and I might even bump up to 8.75. I bump older style decks too (check the handplant pic on the first page)

Do they still make Tracker trucks?

I used to skate waaaay back in the day (probably before some of you, umm, lads, were born). I started on z-flex boards, had a Logan Earth-Ski too. ACS651 trucks and Road-Rider wheels. Later (early 80's), I always rode Tracker trucks and Powell Rat-bones. Had many decks, Uncle Wigglys, numerous G&S decks, Tony Alva, Powell, Neil Blender, god I broke a lot of decks. Skated half-pipes mostly, some pools/parks.

Got to skate Upland a couple times when I was stationed in Cali. Is it still around? That place was like Mecca to arabs. My Friends back home were highly pissed that I got to skate Upland. I sent them a bunch of stickers just to rub their noses in it.

This one is in San Marcos, it's the one you're talking about? How long has it been around? The apartment complex looks to have only closed down a month ago. I thought it was a virgin pool.

I plan on trying snowboarding this coming winter.. Pretty stoked.

I've skated all my life but suck still. I go in and out. Of course I'm into fixed gear bikes now.

Is snowboarding as hard as everyone is telling me?
I have good balance on a board still. Can ollie just fine in any shoes. Can cruise on a long board.. etc..

If you head over my way, we'll have to go together. I even have a 4 board rack for the e30.
I've been boarding for a few (short) seasons with only half a season thrown in the middle from a separated shoulder.
