The funniest thing Colbert ever did (outside of the old "Week in God" segments on TDS) was his "I quit" rant after the Republicans lost control of Congress in '06. I was loling.

Colbert is a parody of self-important blowhard idiots like O'Reilly...

There's a reason The Colbert Report dovetails off of The Daily Show. They're written as one hour-long satire of television news. Get it? Jon "checks in" with Stephen right before the 'moment of zen' and the ride continues. And you're not wrong for not liking either one... you're right! As in Extreme Right.

I happen to like both shows, but I'll still vote for McCain. I'm basing my vote on the actual candidates instead of the parodies. (There won't be an out for the Left's universal healthcare measure which would likely pass under Obama. He will likely abuse the power of the commander in chief's position over the military to withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan effectively repeating history leaving a void where another Taliban could form as the Soviets did abandoning Afghanistan in 1980. He is fixated on the "financial crisis" as if he has no understanding of market fluctuation. He does not seem to have a genuine larger picture view of anything, much less the stock market, and does not strike me as having much wisdom at all except to point at others whom are recognized as wise in their fields. He speaks well and panders wonderfully, but couldn't even serve half of his freshman term as a senator before advancing on his agenda to run for president. A smarter man would have paid his dues.)

    Rant off.

The true malignancy on Comedy Central is The Sarah Silverman Program. She is a shadow, a weak one at that, of her much funnier and far less crude brother, Jonathan. She's not even Jim to John Belushi or even Joel to Bill Murray. I don't know who is exec'ing that truckload of turds, but please oh please, get her off my television.

As for an HD version of Comedy Central... until it's actual hidef material, save it. It pisses me off when DiscoveryHD and others simply tap the 'zoom' button on their DVD player to pump the bigger, grainier, but less actual picture version of the same damned show I can see in 4:3 on the standard channel. Calling that HD is like taking 'a trip around the world' at EPCOT Center.

No wrong. Its not bad because of the content or guests or opinions. Its bad because its not funny, at all. Colbert is not funny, I don't care what the topic is. Everyone thinks hes a riot but they are all wrong.

The gong show is shit, carlos mencia (or Ned if you go by his drivers license) is a retard and his show isn't funny, root of all evil is shit, chocolate news is shit.

Bring back Insomniac, Upright Citizens Brigade, Kids in the Hall, and Strangers with Candy. Also Colbert rules. He has the same basic idea as stewart but executes it differently; IMHO better.

Getting mad at colbert over the daily show is like getting mad at CNN over MSNBC.

Yea, I'm surprised it's not doing better, but after watching it a few times, it got pretty old to me.

I still watch it because it's one of the main channels I watch. But I have the full HD lineup on my cable package, and everything else I watch is HD.

Comedy Central is not going down the drain. they've always been mostly garbage with a few good things mixed in, Chocolate News will go the same way as 90% of their original programming.
