So even though the government invented MBS... ragged wants to focus on the evolution of things in the last 38 years.

Yes, investment banks saw the opportunity as things developed so after Fannie and Freddie got the ball rolling with eased credit and a guaranteed buyer, they did their thing without needing them. They had trauches! (Wall street didn't invent them, the first CMOs were invented by Fannie)

So with this bailout, they investment banks shouldn't be held responsible for their decisions?

Don't you think that's more important than who invented it?

Should we blame modern warfare on Nobel?

Look at Ragged's post. He wanted to eliminate blame for the government based on 3 years in this decade. But hell, he typed a lot so maybe that makes him right?

Who pushed lending to LMIs? Guvment. Does it matter that in the explosion that followed there didn't need to be as much government encouragement?

If you unleash a disease in your hospital, is only the first room your responsibility? with everyone else to blame for the spread? Come on.

Pissed that someone took a page out of your book?

Oh wait - you copy and paste material and links.

There's no way you can compare this to a hospital epidemic. You're like the religious right - you use stupid analogies to confuse idiots.

So what you're saying is MC wasn't involved in making Hammer pants cool?

              This is just getting silly....

Well, even if there may have been operations who were selling the pants for him, the vast majority of Hammer pants in the hayday were not his doing... so he is really not responsible for the increase in ownership of Hammer pants, according to ragged's logic.

This is your worst argument to date.

Sounds like Heeter is getting desperate. Comparing parachute pants to the subprime mortgage market? Yikes.

Seriously, you should really call your college back about that refund, because apparently your degree was a joke.

                      SubprimeLoan,

the ridiculousness of MC Hammer analogy reflects the ridiculousness of ragged's logic that the government did not influence the rise of the subprime market and the MBS's that caused these issues. Just because in the final years they did not rely solely on Fannie and Freddie does not mean that they were not responsible for the rise of the "market"

I don't know legally how much liability the officers from the corporations have... but, there should have been SOME incentive for them to save their corps by re-negotiating THEIR LIABILITIES with the homeowners so that the homeowners could stay in their houses.
