sad day. ...seriously try to just diversify man. Z3/M 's are very similar in many respects and those owners have cash and are often more active track-wise. it would be a seriously hugh loss to the e30 community if you simply just "gave up"

i unfortunately fall into that tight budget catagory right now... job searchin away. but that has to do partly with the times. but seriously if you close up then once i'm squared away in a few months (fingers crossed!) where am i gonna get the type of parts that your making from? i'm gonna have to build them myself :( if i had a grand to blow, your stuff would be on the top of the list. no joke.

it's definately a hobby/passion that keeps the parts support for our cars alive.

Wow, that's the first set of "big" wheels I've seen on an '02 that I actually like.

keep doing what you do, you are appreciated, although not really financially unfortunately.

make E-46 stuff to help subsidize what you really love to do.
it is like having a job you feel unsatisfied with that subsidizes your racing

I will say that too...Daniel, I wish I gave a shit about going fast or making my car handle substantially better, because I would rock your shit in a heartbeat.

So yeah, I suppose that means thanks for being a fucking weirdo, man.

The fact is that an E30 is a low dollar car nowadays. You can get a clean 325is for 4k. A large percentage of people who buy these are younger, and don't necessarily have a lot of disposable income, but buy them because they are reasonably capable cars out of the box.

Accordingly, the market for high dollar, high quality parts is rather slim in this crowd. There are very few people who will be willing to spend the extra coin when there are many low dollar, "good enough" parts, especially considering the demographic of people who buy our cars.

You have sort of carved out a very very small niche for yourself, so it would only make sense that your efforts go underappreciated. It's too bad really...

And that experience is what makes you invaluable as a manufacturer. As I've gotten older I realize that anyone can screw shit onto a car, it takes someone with true knowledge to make a car better. When I do the M30 swap, I'm going to get headwork and a cam from a guy 1200 miles away from me, because he knows his shit. Daniel, thank you for being obscessed with the E30-mine will be better because of it.

When I said I was working on that I was actually talking about bracing the car front to rear.... With a bolt in roll cage.

Actually connecting the carriers together would be kind of a bad idea... There really is such a thing as too rigid.

    ... Done Ranting:

At any rate, I'm heading down to the shop today and then down to my buds shop to do some preliminary R&D on a rear brace like the new e30 one for the Z3/M roadster.

Surf e46 fanatics for a few days, the level of douchebagetry in that forum is unsurpassed.... but they do have money... Buy a roll of carbon fiber stickers and apply it to all the parts you sell, it'll work like a charm.
