It does exist, it's just not as common place as it is here. Then again, Portland is pretty out of control with our micro stuff. we now have ~40 breweries in the city limits with another ~10 in the burbs just outside ptown. ya... we like our beer!

Who want's to trade east coast beer for some of my fine pnw loot? I wanna see what you guys are working with, I have heard good things are going on out there now.

the funny thing about "stories" is that sometimes they are made up.

I have yet to order something domestic at a bar. unless it is pabst blue ribbon for a dollar at my favorite dive bar when I'm broke.

I'm glad you are proud of your PNW beers, but that doesn't mean good beer doesn't exist on the other side of the country.

You just need to know where to go to find the finer brewski's. It is true however that most "dive" bars only have your cheap watered down domestic horseshit brewski's, but those places are after quantity and not quality customers. But I am sure this is true in the PNW too.....

I went to a dive bar and they had Southern Tier Unearthly on tap. That is how commonplace "boutique" brews are these days. Nitrogen systems, cask aged finery, etc., is all available here. The only thing we're missing is a ready and large population of meth-heads.

I'm going to try Lagunitas DIPA to see if it's any better. It's odd they don't have distribution up there as CA is a lot closer to WA/OR than the East Coast.
Er, I meant Elysian IPA. You win.
