crazy post kronus. and some people actually take those guys seriously.

HP; and they should. its really not ok for leaders of a major political party to throw around that actually killing the other party is ok and encouraged. it should have stopped when it started. now there is a real example of why that kind of speech is not ok. enough wackjobs in this world that one might take the words seriously.

Damn I didn't see kronus' post. I was mainly talking about the issue of gun control.

I hate how this country thinks we need a violent revolution. That's what the dems want. We need to fight this with words.

Here's an interesting bit I found:

In one year, guns murdered 17 people in Finland, 35 in Australia, 39 in England and Wales, 60 in Spain, 194 in Germany, 200 in Canada, and 9,484 in the United States according to the Brady Campaign.
Of course, "guns don't herp a derp, people herp a derp", and the populations of all the cited countries are all different, but even if you adjust the raw numbers by population and population density, the US is still wildly ahead.

Jesus christ man, stop talking about 'dems' this, 'libs' that, 'lefties killed my dog with a baseball bat.' I'm tearing my face off in frustration over here, just stop it for the love of god.

Well what about the ghettos that are barely even regulated by policing? Like detroit, and whatnot. I'm sure quite a bit come from areas such as this.

Cry me a river alec. I don't think I've ever used the word lib... Shit I barely post in this section.

I highly doubt that this kid even heard any of those things these right wing scam artist had to say about killing anyone. The kid was a fucking mental patient just look at his mugshot.

Again I highly doubt this kid was listening to rush limbaugh and then got the idea to go on a suicide mission.

                    It's more like

1 pyschotic gun owner + mental illness + warped views of reality = shooting

And of course if Palin hadn't had that site up the killing would never have happened right....lol.

That is such a cop out, the guy was a wackjob no matter who said what to whom.

Never waste a good tragedy, though, huh? Everyone is going to use the guy's nuttiness for their own personal agendas.

That is true. But I think you're also misreading peoples' point in order to fit what you think is correct. Pretty sure all of us would agree with everything you said, especially after some facts came out in recent days. Hell I'm not sure, but I heard the kid was a pot smoking liberal-type, kinda.

What people are trying to say is, the hostile environment was created almost entirely by the tactics of the far right, and that is undeniable. Ever since Bush/Gore, it's been an absolute slaughterhouse shitshow. Listen to what party leaders like Palin, McCain, Bachmann, etc. have to say about the left. Then listen to what party leaders from the other side have to say about the right. There's just no comparison. Both sides are bad, but I do know what I've seen and heard from both. Also this point is barely relevant to the shooting in the first place..

Maybe (read: probably) this wasn't the reason this kid went out and shot Giffords, but it damn well is a cause for concern, and we should all be insanely concerned because of what just happened. Some people agree with what I'm saying 100%, and others deny it 100% and basically label me as a straight retard. The people who agree with what I said are on the left or middle, I still haven't talked to one right-leaning individual who agrees. And why is that? MFing politics and a CRAZY moral divide between the two parties. I like to call it Blind Party Loyalty. Seems to me like the political parties are slowly becoming "religious far right" vs. "atheist liberals/moderates". Neither side is giving way, or getting any smarter.

The idea is to not take sides, but listen to what people are saying and try to make sense of it. It seems like everyone in this country listens to what other people say, take everything they disagree with and forget it ever happened, then retort with some infantile response that means absolutely nothing in the real world. If a liberal suspects a conservative of being a tea party bible thumper, they will bitch and moan all day and pull up news articles straight from google until someone blows a gasket. If a conservative suspects a liberal of being a supporter of global warming awareness and universal heathcare, they always seem to start with the name calling and BS their way to 'winning' the argument without presenting facts. These are obviously generalizations, but this is the direction we're headed at our current pace. A bunch of 5th and 6th grade girls arguing over semantics.

...so much so that we haven't gotten shit done in the past 10 years, and the country is crumbling from under all our feet. So please for the love of god let's stop talking dems/reps in this particular debate because it's not relevant. Or I'll... or I'll...... cry the mississippi river!

A couple innocent deaths per year is not enough of a reason to take away guns.

I really don't give a shit about the left or the right, they are both insane. The fact is this kid was a wack job and lost his marbles and went and shot somebody at no fault but his own.

There shouldn't even be any argument about whose fault this is or who provoked who. Even the father of the little girl states that he feels no more of our freedoms should be taken away from this incident.

This whole thread is pretty pointless. It's always the same story in here. You could almost write a whole response in a paragraph and predict exactly what every ones going to say. I didn't read all the pages until a few minutes ago.
