The fact they are actually voting on this isn't news? If I were closer to you I'd offer to help dig your head deeper into the snow drift.
Just for your information, it's likely to pass. Then what? I will at least laugh in your general direction. My suggestion is you read Anne Frank's diary. Maybe then you'll see not everything is just a conspiracy theory but that some of it is real.

        You don't honestly believe that.

"Releasing" things to the press is a great way to judge public perception without moving forward with a vote/resolution/etc.

Did you neglect to read this part?

"The Berkeley City Council has postponed a vote..."
They haven't voted on it. Maybe they will, but it's been tabled for now. I know enough about City Council meetings to know that "tabled" means they aren't ready to act.

And just how likely is it to pass when.....

The City Manager, an extreme liberal, filed a report denouncing the proposal and stated that the city has unfunded liabilities — including pension funds, workers’ compensation and vacation payouts — totaling as much as $252 million. The City auditor Anne Marie Hogan, who authored the report, cautioned that employee benefits for the city’s 1,500 workers represent a rapidly increasing cost to Berkeley and that measures must immediately be taken to lower these expenditures.

We'll have to wait until February or March to see the result, but I'll bet you'll have moved on to the next tempest-in-a-teapot by then....

Or were you hoping we'd all join you in a letter-writing campaign?

Lastly, you are aware, aren't you, that San Francisco has been offering a similar benefit for the last ten years?

And again.....what do you care if it passes? Why are you so fucking worked up about something like this?

Let us know when they actually do vote on it. I sure won't be losing any sleep over it.

No you missed it. You're just like all the people during the 30's who rejected the idea that Germany was building a war machine. War....lol...yeah right....
I'm here to hand you a piece of reality. No matter how much you want to reject the idea that bad things happen in this world, they actually do. That includes politicians like these retards trying to use tax payer money for something that is not a health risk by any means. While the walls fall around them.
I know you wont be losing any sleep over it. You just keep your eyes glued to your lovely NPR propaganda machine so you and your liberal buddies can keep focusing on racism and political correctness as opposed to the fact this country is headed for a shithole.

I was actually going to respond point by point, but why bother. But I will say, only you could find a way to equate a couple of sex change operations with the creation of the Wehrmacht, especially since San Fran has been doing the same thing for over 10 years. That kind of paranoia is probably untreatable.....

Well there's part of your problem. You can't understand what you read. I was comparing your lack of basic logic to those that also lacked basic logic back in the 30's. That was not a connection to this potentially bad idea in Berkeley. NPR is waiting for you...
