I'll probably get a shit ton of crap for saying this and be labeled a flaming racist...but so be it. I have a good family friend who is a cop in Dallas, known him for years before he became a cop, without a doubt not a born and raised klan member. After working this job and the disproportionate amount of black people he comes into contact on a nightly basis is absolutely bound to ingrain some sort of racial bias. For lack of a better example, it's like eating Chipotle once a week and enjoying it for the most part, then you get a job there and the last thing you want to do is another double wrapped burrito.

BTW this was not the only country in the world to have Blacks enslaved, the Natives were doing it here long before we got here with each other, and it was institutionalized all over the world for MUCH longer than it has been outlawed, in fact most of human history slavery has been a part of it. There are still many places its still going on, just below the surface of polite society..... Trying to use that tired old "excuse" is getting just that tired and a piss poor one to use as a justification for outrage.

Then stop excusing for it by saying "oh look other people did it too."

The fact of the matter is that even though we went through a brutal civil war over slavery, a significant percentage of the population was still subsequently denied equal civil rights by law for over a hundred more years. And can be argued that it still exists, legally and institutionally.

Just to put this stupid shit to rest, getting shot in the back doesn't necessarily mean he was rushing the cop like an idiot. He could have been running like the witnesses said, stopped and turned around as ordered, put his hands up and been shot. That would be consistent with his injuries.

Not that I'm on either side here, but the autopsy has shown all 6 shots were in the front including the fatal shot to the FOREHEAD.

Add in 12+ witnesses corroborating the officers story.

Can you point me to what you've read that counters this?

Latest reports says the officer suffered an orbital blowout fracture.

I suspect his facial fractures happened because the kid didn't "rush" him.

To be honest, it was a rushed and incomplete post...oh well. My point was that cops are humans and expecting them to be immune to what they see every day isn't entirely reasonable. This ties back into addressing urban crime, but I guess that's a topic for another racism thread.

Here's the autopsy wound profile.

I'm not an expert, but those bullet wound patterns are not consistent with a police officer / marksman's typical accuracy and spread. Too wide of a spread, especially for an execution style shooting as to what some people have been saying.
However, if you take his right arm with the bullet wounds, and raise it TOWARDS the police officer indicating he was reaching at the police officer "more evidence of struggle" the spread is smaller and the pattern is consistent for the wound to be "traveling" up his arm and finally hitting his head when he hit the ground on his knees.
The dead give-away is the wound near the thumb.

That and how many actual shots were fired. That would show multiple entry/re-entries and would force some wounds to line up which would force how the limbs were arranged.
