DOJ got involved as they're obliged to do on civil rights issues. If there is no civil rights issue, there won't be any indictments. They should be investigating. The local police made such a hackjob of their investigation, that for either side's claims to have credibility a thorough autopsy and inquiry should be performed.

No one is talking about this event independent from other events of police militarization.

I didn't tell anyone to shut up. I find it wrong how the media, community, and leaders (black leaders) are in an uproar over something that involves a black CRIMINAL and a white POLICE OFFICER. This shit just happened with the Trayvon Martin case. It turns out, Trayvon wasn't such a nice little kid either. I've read horror stories that weren't covered in the media regarding white victims and black criminals. Why does this take precedence? Why is everyone in an uproar over this? If it was a black officer would the reaction be the same? Probably not. Would Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Obama, and the black panthers get involved? Hell no. All of this is RACIALLY driven, just like the Trayvon Martin case.
The race card is getting pulled out too often now.

And to push on the topic more....when have you ever seen Al Sharpton come out to speak that didn't have any question of racism in it? I'll wait.....And how many times has he pulled the race card out of his ass? Once again...I will wait.....

Criminal? when was he convicted of anything? To me, the absolute worst part of the discussion of issues like this one and TM is the focus on victim blaming, as if everyone should not enjoy the right of being shot to death by the police or that he had it coming to him.

I think the public has a right to be upset about how this gross incompetence shown by the Ferg PD on how they handled this case itself and the public's reaction to it, but nobody should be looting or anything like that.

Story is coming out that the officer suffered a fractured eye socket and over a dozen witnesses that were there in person tell the story that matches the claims of the officer.

Crime is breaking the law. A criminal is someone who takes part in crime. You do not have to be convicted.
And ask yourself this. If the police report comes out and proves the police officer had no choice...would that actually change anything? Or would it be TM case all over again and criminal charges still trying to be charged AFTER the case?
