Americans ONLY. We close our borders, because bad guys. Then we start letting the government control more and more, because we want to be safe. Eventually, we're powerless. Are you going to run up to a line of turrets with your 12-gauge?

Disclaimer: This is JUST food for thought. Not putting on my tin-foil hat for good QUITE yet. Not trying to be another George or Hoof.
Try to enter "Area 51" or any other established no entry zone. Every country has that somewhere. So it's safer to enter our country illegally than it is to enter the offices of our police and White House illegally? They should be the same, again just as it is possibly deadly to enter my house illegally. Get a Visa, your in. Enter illegally, your out by force or by lethality.

BTW I don't want closed borders as I pointed out above, just make it so dangerous to enter illegally that the safest way in is through our gates, where vetting and documentation is required. We have that, but we can't have a proper form of a physical barrier? They just walk around?

I have no problem knowing that if I try to enter any country illegally, I will either be detained or shot on sight if caught.

Oh you mean like the LEOs that recently shot and killed a black security guard outside a bar that was holding the perps, because they just assumed he was the bad guy?

My brother is an LEO and even he thinks Open Carry is a horrible idea because it puts a target on your back.

No one supports terrorists, what a brave, bold statement. The 9/11 terrorists came in through Canada with Passports............not crawling through the Mexican and SW US deserts for days.

There should really be a basic intelligence test to be allowed to vote in this country.

So we need to normalize it. It puts a target because too many LEOs suspect that a law abiding citizen has no need of self defense outside of the state.

About the terrorists, I agree, can't stop them all, especially when our Government wants to watch them more. Oh wait? Sandy Hook! Parkland!

NEVER rely on the state. For funds. Healthcare. Protection.

Everyone should read this study done by Johns Hopkins about Concealed Carry and Reciprocity:

            https://www.jhsph.edu/research/cente...f-firearms.pdf

The institute that compiled the paper in that link is funded by Bloomberg and is tasked with researching different topics related to health.

I don't understand why people continue to argue that concealed carry will make people safer. All the research points to the opposite reality.

^But guns, knives, flamethrowers, tanks are not a health issue. It's a safety issue. A security issue as well. I will not let go of freedoms in the name of state protection ever.

Things like cancer, moldy houses due to poor upkeep by landlords, etc are a health issue.

My brother is a LEO too. He believes we have the right to defend our-selves with any tool. He also believes as I do that open or concealed carry is a matter of public and leo acceptance as I stated above. Some LEOs I know advocate for concealed carry no matter the state law as any law banning it is unconstitutional. Normalize it and it wont be too much concern for the citizen, but it will be of concern for the criminal. Concealed carry laws are silly because if you print, you are a criminal, which is wholly unfair, and abused much too easily by the law.

I can't imagine what it must be like to be such a paranoid individual.

I've actually been robbed at knife point while working at a convenience store in high school, worked at some of the most dangerous stores in a city that has some of the highest per capita murder rates in the country. I worked at a store where a night manager was taken into the cooler and beaten to death, for example.

The truth is, yes there are some random instances of violence, but the vast majority of homicides, home invasions, etc, are related to gangs and drugs and the areas of town where those things manifest themselves and family/domestic violence.

The chance that you are going to be Clint Eastwood at your local BBQ.........you're more likely to be attacked by a Great White in a landlocked state.

Yup, very true about chances, but NEVER deny someone an opportunity to defend themselves with an equalizer.

What about denying someone legal entry into the country? Isnt that what 45 is preventing by not allowing those into the country?

You are so misinformed. As a country we need to deny illegal entry.

Just ask the grandfather who had a gun, defended his family, and then was shot by the police. Worked out for him right?

The idea that the majority of the public being armed to combat police lethal force use.. Can't see the logic. I don't trust the average American citizen to drive like a sane human being... I certainly don't want all of them carrying a weapon. Some of the population has the self control to carry... the majority, do not. If the cops are quick on the trigger now, operating on the basis that they think they see a weapon. Could you imagine if they could assume everyone has a weapon?

That was an illegal red flag entry. Consequences of a corrupt , unconstitutional law with no due process.

No one is denying your right to own arms or protect yourself. Stand your ground laws have become more powerful over the decades in regards to the person "standing their ground."

Oops, wrong incident, which happened a couple weeks ago.

As to the incident mentioned, Leo's need better training and communication. Consequences I accept for both parties.
