Iran knows that it's vastly outmatched by the US, Israel, and the Arab states banded against it. However Iran will stand its ground and not be dicked with by the current administration's war-mongering hypebeasts (see Bolton, Pompeo, Miller, much of the GOP).

Quite honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if US/Israel/Saudis staged the tanker attacks. Edit: quite honestly, most of the international community knows that Iran isn't stupid enough to blatantly/messily attack some civilian (non-Arab/Israeli/etc.) tankers sailing in international waters. I don't think any military/country would be so sloppy.

If I owed you money, does beating me up and taking my job get you paid back?

Provide some analysis of your own instead of sharing a story we all know. You don't kill the ability of someone to pay you bac when they owe you money.

I was actually agreeing with your first post ... Maybe calm down for a second , everyone is so hostile in here...

the article is showing how they are slowing decreasing their bond holdings and putting their money in gold.

              Did a little digging.

              Iran has 80 million people.
Is the 18th largest economy in the world.
Is about on par with Germany.

This would not end well for the US.

100%. It would not, even if they “bomb the hell” out of Iran.

even having set ourselves up in iraq and afg to make iran fight a two-front war, yeah, given that maddis said it was still a bad idea and then decided it was time to pop smoke tells me something.

Iran is full of mountainous terrain, a ground war would be slow going at best.

How are you coming to the conclusion a country with a GDP 1/8th that of Germany is "on par" with it?

If the US went at war with Iran, they'll also have to fight Iraqis, once again, as a lot of Iraqis are Shiites, like the Iranians ... I think that somebody raised his finger and explained that to Doritos. ;-)

The warhawks/neocons are making headway again after being pretty stuck for a couple of years and it makes me sick. We've spent nearly the past two decades being at war with the middle east and have nothing to show for it but a bunch of dead americans and middle eastern civilians. Bush's wars, Obama's continuation of them and his drone strikes, it's all too much. Our involvement in the perpetually wartorn and hideously backwards middle east should be zero. We should cut off completely from the region. No foreign aid, no troops on the ground, no trade, no immigration, no nothing. We have no business being involved in their perpetual religious civil wars or any of their other affairs. Both major parties seem obsessed with being involved with the middle east for some reason (I think it's black and comes out of the ground), it has never done anything good for anyone to be involved with that place.

An SA17 with typical hardware would have a range of 30ish miles, and Global Hawks typically operate somewhere in the 15 to 20000m altitude, so while it is possible that the US drone was in intl waters, and accounting for hardware underrating, it could have been at most, 5 miles outside of them. Then factor in not launching your missile system when you have a low probability hit tells me that the RQ4 was likely within, or just outside of the border.

Granted, we do not know what actually downed the RQ4, or if it even was downed for certain. But we can say that all active fighter pilots are celebrating the even notional loss of a UAV.

Nah it would end totally in our favor. Just like Iraq, was such a success.
