Want to win some free stuff? Want to get an interior light delay unit with
out even paying for it? Of course you do! Well I need your help.
The next time you are doing a small shoot of your e30, take some time and
take a few extra pictures, submit them and win!
Here's what I need from you. I need some pictures to help me advertise my
delay units. I have an unique idea, and I need your help to pull it off.
Here's what's in my head: It's really hard to quickly explain to someone
how my interior light delay units work. I want something visual to show
how they work. I could use a video camera and make another little demo
video. But I want to combine the demonstrative nature of video with the
artistic skill in the photography I've seen on the boards. It may be
used in a video - but most like it's going to be turned into a gif for use on
ebay and what not.
CONTEST:
Here is how I see this working. You pick how you want to shoot this. You
control everything. But rather than it being only one photo you end up
with, you'll shoot 5/6 shots of the same photo, with the camera locked off
on the same shot. Simple right? Here's the difference - in each shot,
there will be something different on the car - the shot won't change, the
exposure won't change - just the car:
1.) Door(s) closed, interior lights off.
2.) Door(s) open, interior lights on.
3.) Door(s) closed, interior lights on.
4.) Door(s) closed, interior lights on, headlights/dashlights on.
5.) Door(s) closed, interior lights off, headlight/dashlights on.
6.) (optional) if you want to adjust exposure for only the interior light -
feel free to do one shot that is set to only show the detail of the interior
light on - the rest of the frame can be over exposed.
What I'll be doing is to animate the images, creating the effect that things
are happens as if it were video. The locked off shot - locked down on a
tripod will enable this - that's the key.
Please watch the video above - I think you'll understand what I'm looking
to do. All 5/6 images will be edited together to created the effect of
different things happens at different times.
- You don't need to do any photoshop-ing I'll take care of all of that.
- Post 2 or 3 from the set here so that people can see.
- Email the entire set to me at george.graves@gmail.com - you can attach
pictures, or send a link - if you don't email the entire set, you can't win.
- You must use a tripod, but a sandbag might works as well.
- this should be looking like a night shoot (my samples below don't convey
that well)
- I'd recommend switching to manual exposure to keep a consistence exposure.? You're the photog - you decide.
- Don't kick that tripod! Doh! No really, don't kick it - the images will be overlays
and animated together. A locked off shot is a must.
- Contest tentatively ends in 2 weeks, May 5 or so.
PRIZES:
1st place: Interior light delay w/ auto dimming.
RUNNERS UP(2nd, 3rd)
OBC temp sensor
Sorry I can't offer more I'm still trying to get the ball rolling on all of this -
but if this works out - there may be more free stuff for you in the future
in exchange for pics.
RULES: (I'll keep this simple)
- I decided the winner
- You can enter as many times as you wish, no limit to how many set of pictures.
- All submissions, winning or not, are given with the understand that I get
the exclusive rights to use them for advertising, blah, blah, blah. I'll be
using these to advertise delay units. I need to "own" the pictures after the
contest is done. If you can't hang with that - please don't post.
- Please re-size image for the web, but you must email the hi-res(+1000px)
version to be considered.
- You can email as an attachment or as a link.
- No watermarks please.
- I know this is a lot to ask - if you have input, please let me know!
Here are some images that I had laying around that I kinda like. I like the
"wide angle lenses from the inside" shot. I almost think that if you could
shoot through the rear window with a hood covering the camera/rear window
to get rid of reflections that it could really work. It'd be great if you could
get the door in the shot.
This is a great outside shot. It would be really nice to see the dash lights
when the door is closed to so that it would indicate that the car has been started. Maybe show the effect of the interior light
I could really see a head on shot working well too.
Another great interior shot. I'll most likely replace the image showing what
is outside the windows with a city landscape at night.
Good luck - looking forward to your submissions!
PS - please post here if you intend on entering the contest!
