no, someone told me it was a rope that you pulled down and there was a counter weight.

just imagine a firefighter later were you have to pull the halyard(rope) down so that the ladder extension will go up. It works out your forearms and triceps i guess. I might go, but hate to start a rhythm and kill it after 7 days

Hmm, you mean where you pull up from the floor & work out your triceps? ? I think they have a machine where the pulley is adjustable & you can put it as low as you want and pull up. they have so many machines there its unbelievable .
get a free 7 day pass & just go man , we can meet up & work out ! I go almost everyday , excluding sundays. :P
