What group are you guys running in? Point by and solo are almost full
A COUPLE cars? Jesus. I was looking forward to 5, maybe I should take it easy.

We were shooting for point-by; I mailed a check. Hopefully it arrives in time.

Anyway, gotta get up early tomorrow: laguna seca time! :)

None of us are running E30s actually, I am running my e46 330i and we will have some M3s. Also kronus will hopefully be running his e30. So... One of us will be running E30s.

Rob, talk to Kevin at JMP, he has ran buttonwillow with his 4.10 LSD/stock m20 and did pretty good times iirc.

in any case, hitting the top of 5th in a car loosely held together by zip ties and good intentions is quite a bit of fun.
And hitting the top of 5th in an M20 is impossible :p

Point being, you can't compare a race built E30 with a stock one. Cheesy is likely up 50whp and down 400lbs from this car... you will have much higher straightaway speeds. You may forget, sir, how anemic an M20 really is. ;)

the rev limit is the same, the m30 260 has the same gear ratios as the m20 one. Also, our sister team runs an M20 with a 4.10, and they're pretty even with us in everything but acceleration ;)

With a 3.73 at TH I dip into 2nd in 5, 11 and 14 if I'm going hard. At BW, 2/3, 4/5 and 19 are 2nd in the same situation. Since we do endurance racing, most of the time I hang back a bit and save gas/engine/clutch/transmission/diff/tires by not dropping into 2nd.
